When he allowed a Fox News flak to attack Jon Stewart anonymously. That's a Postno-no according to the paper's attribution guidelines for sources. (See Jim Romenesko.)

Why attack Stewart? He's a comedian. A satirist. It's not even a real news show. Although, from some polling I've read this year, apparently, if you're a Daily Show watcher, you're better informed about the things going on in the world than say, a FoxNews watcher, which is the reason most likely as to why they're getting all pissy about Stewart.
Kurtz went against policy by calling the man a "spokesman"...had he stuck with the word "flack" or "moron", he probably wouldn't have violated policy. No rules on unattributed flacks....
