The AP makes our heads hurt, again

August 28, 2008 9:24 am ET by Eric Boehlert

Another "analysis" gem. We'll just highlight one of the more idiotic portions. It's where the AP's Jennifer Loven struggles mightily to keep afloat her divisive, the-Clinton's-stole-the-convention theme. How did she know it was true? Well, because Hillary had the key speaking role Tuesday night. As for Biden's performance in the same time slot last night, here's Loven:

"As the evening's final speaker, Biden held the so-called prime-time slot. Yet, in Eastern and Central time zones, Biden wound up on TV after many folk's bedtimes and it was Bill Clinton people saw, being cheered so roundly that he had to plead "Please stop ... Please sit" to be heard."

For those keeping track, in the Central time zones Biden began speaking at approximately 9:20 last night. But according to the AP, that was "after many folks' bedtime."

We just can't make this stuff up.

No doubt "her" people tuck it in early with a final snifter of brandy and cigar.

Would it really have mattered when Bill and Hillary spoke?  Jennifer Loven would have a reason to make it wrong.

Hillary has handled herself beautifully, as has Bill.  He is still the Ex-President of the United States and people remember that back during his 2 terms, we actually had an economy before Bush/McCain squandered it.  People still like him.

Biden was terrific and people don't just go to bed if they want to watch something or someone.  Real World Time Jennifer.

Golly, even some of us rubes on the Atlantic coast have been known to stay up all the way to 11:30 at night.  And they pay her to produce this stuff?

You know, the images these people have of the "folks" are actually very hateful and bigoted. Matthews talks this way every day, trying to sound like he adores them, but depicting regular people as if they were idiotic rubes with outhouses in the back yard.
