Fox News has ACORN on the brain

October 13, 2008 9:51 pm ET by Eric Boehlert

FNC has gone all in on the ACORN voter registration story in recent days. Since Friday, Fox News has mentioned the community organizing group 342 times, according to TVeyes.com. (That's compared to the 61 mentions on CNN.)

Here's a glimpse of what Fox News' ACORN-mania looked like on Monday.

CNN is on this too. Drew Griffin, with the help of Campbell Brown, Kyra Phillips and probably others, is wildly exaggerating ACORN related irregularities. They also suggested that ACORN's only defense was that it was the government's fault. Very biased report.

CNN has been remarkably disgusting on this issue-- deliberately leaving out the 'rest of the story.'

I say deliberately because-- what else explains it? Anderson Coooper has  been just as bad.

Is it dishonesty, deliberate bias, an attempt to manipulate the election for their Republican bosses, or do they just have worms for brains?

We can only imagine what the right wing would say if Mike Connell was a Democrat! (http://markcrispinmiller.blogspot.com/2008/10/tell-john-mccain-to-fire-mike-connell.html)

They have to do something to explain away the voters preference for Obama. Of course ACORN is required by the government to turn in all registrations and they notify officials of problems.

I guess that's why they're being investigated in thirteen states for voter fraud...

It ain't 'voter fraud', if anything, it would be registration. Nobody's voted.

And not only does this problem crop up in all registration drives, but it was ACORN that flagged the applications when they turned them in to the registrar-- which they must do, by law-- they can't pull them out on their own.

Ah, facts. Like truth, they are so unimportant, aren't they?

ACORN turned these fake registrations in, so what is the problem? It is not like they put them through and said nothing. They found the problem and turned it in to the right authorities. Plus, first time voters have to show photo ID so what would the extra registrations have done? Nothing. These people are making out of a mole hill... as they usually do. Fox calls themselves fair and balanced, but have you noticed that John McCain has not worn a flag pin for the debates? Barack was chastised for MONTHS about this. He was called unAmerican and a terrorist because of this, so why are they not saying the same thing about McCain?
