Chris Matthews eats crow

Chris Matthews, this morning:
"At 11 this morning, Senator Hillary Clinton of New York will also take the floor to say goodbye. That'll be an emotional moment because everyone knows Hillary Clinton earned that Senate seat and very much loves that place. In fact, is loved a lot in the Senate. She has really become one of the members of that Senate club."
Of course, some people haven't always been clear on that. Chris Matthews, for one. Last January, Matthews said of Clinton: "[T]he reason she's a U.S. senator, the reason she's a candidate for president, the reason she may be a front-runner is her husband messed around."
That comment eventually led to an apology from Matthews, after it sparked renewed focus on his lengthy history of on-air sexism.

Contrary to media hype, Sarah Palin is very unpopular

I don't know to what real degree this motor-mouth might have imagined himself as a U.S. Senator: it may have just been a publicity ploy, as leverage in his contract negotiations... whatever, who really knows or really cares.
But it is funny still, that he sounds out a note here about the U.S. Senate, that sounds so Familiar with that body, so Congenial and so Diplomatic (in a word, so Senatorial), as opposed to that former crap he sounded out, about people being advanced to the U.S. Senate for reasons we might not think were true and real qualifications to that Office.
Like mere fame: television fame at that.
I think this guy chris matthews, I think the inside of his head is just a continuous long playing movie or show, in which he is the star.
I think that's what drives him not only to tape so much crap for General Electric's NBC, but drives his mouth so fast and furious also: he has STAR POWER... he's a SHOOTING (off his mouth) STAR.
And I don't know truly whether he went and wrote produced and directed a new movie inside his head, where he's a U.S. Senator, I don't know whether that was just more showbiz or maybe sincere delusion on chris matthews' part...
I do know that if this guy imagines himself to be Senatorial, then he should at least act the part, and throttle down the motor that drives his mouth: U.S. Senators are conspicuous for the considered and patient manner in which they speak... they are under few if any time constraints when they speak, and their words show it.
Shooting ones mouth off like a machine gun, like chris matthews does, is more a qualification to the job he holds now, of televised know-it-all, than it is a qualification to the U.S. Senate.
But the guy can always dream, can't he... I mean, that's what his words seem to indicate he's doing most of the time anyway, just dreamin' off the top of his head, about what kind of movie or show he imagines Washington D.C. is.
Very nicely put DEM...
