Prejean swimsuit competition

Media Matters has documented numerous examples of Fox News' pattern of exploiting any opportunity to show scantily clad women, regardless of the seriousness of the issue being covered.

      A Republican Star is born!

Right now somewhere, John McCain is saying to himself "Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot! I should have picked her instead!"

She is on the slippery-est of slopes. It creeps me out to think of her talking at all those Young Repub luncheons.

And Fox News putting her swimsuit pic on the screen is an excuse for MMFA to per her photo up again!!

BTW, didn't she say she was cool with a country that allows gay marriage when she answered the question in the competition?

Imagine it was 2004 and Miss CA was asked about the war and she gave an opinion that was against the "unprovoked" war in Iraq and finished in second place.  Would she have been invited to the National Press Club?  Serioulsy, what the hell does the runner up of Miss America have to enlighten the press corps?

The reason is simple.  She was set up with a gotcha question (I don't think SHE was targeted personally) that was political in nature and then fair or unfair, paid a price for her answer.  Then the gay activist blogger goes on Utube and calls her all kinds of vile things (the media has NO problem with that) so she now is a sympathetic  person.

Why does MMfA care about a shunned beauty queen?
