A must-read about the rise of Militia Media

May 15, 2009 2:50 pm ET by Eric Boehlert

The book is The Eliminationists: How Hate Talk Radicalized the American Right. It's by blogger David Neiwert and it's what helps put the radical path of right-wing rhetoric under Obama into proper, and historical, perspective. It give much-needed context regarding how that brand of hate speech has been mainstreamed via talk radio and Fox News, among others.

Reviewing the timely new book in American Prospect,

The right wing has built an entire industry out of hate for the "others" - liberal, gays, blacks, muslims, etc.

All the while accusing the "left" of hate speech.

It's disturbing that they've been able to dominate radio coast to coast to foment hatred of others and liberals. Not to mention the massive amount of mis-information and outright lies to further their agenda

It is going to take a natural catastrophe and threaten the entire globe ( like an really big asteroid hitting the surface ) for these people to realise we all are americans, above party affiliation, swim in the same pool so don't dirty up the water for we all gonna suffer. It also makes me wonder what is the syllabus of our universities that hand out journalism degrees .

Unfortunately we're dealing with people who, when they finally have to acknowledge the reality of climate change, will try to get a corner on beachfront property in Manitoba instead of helping the rest of us mitigate the damage to people and communities.

Rev. Jim Jones, Guyana, and Saddam Hussein, Iraq, played the same power speeches over and over. Mind numbingly, over and over.
Talk radio and conservative media is imploding in the same obnoxious fashion. Let them. They have the right.
Emotions makes them desperate, as shown by imbalance. Wonky with fear, they desperately reach for misguided fantasies, only to remain in the past. That is, so last century.

Like driving on a road, the future is ahead and the past is going by. We look back to see if something is coming back, from the past. Simple. Let us move forward. Agreed?
