      Well, wasn't Barack Obama responsible for 9/11? And isn't he in favor of no longer interrogating detained terrorists? And allowing terrorists to live among us? On welfare? And taking away our guns to protect ourselves from terrorists? And isn't it true he won't produce a valid birth certificate? And that he's the true anti-Christ? Semms clear to me that Obama is a Marxist who hates America and is now implementing his true intentions of destroying our beloved country? If people would just open their eyes... ;>)

      Let's not overlook the whole idea of a 'pre- 9/11 mindset' would only exist you were still trying to explain your incompetence at taking any steps to prevent it. It is still shocking to me that Bushies claim there was no way to know something like 9/11 could happen. Or that they let Bin Laden get away.

      If the FBI would have moved on the tips they received from Phoenix and Minneapolis field officers, 9/11 most likely would have been prevented or dramitically reduced in scope. The people who carried out 9/11 were in the US for some time. The falls under the purview of the FBI.

        It is NOT as simple and numbskull as 'incompetence' that 'the FBI did NOT move and act on information' when it coulda shoulda. The FBI deciders and movers DID act -- taking deliberate action to shut up the sources and flow of information, both at Minneapolis and Phoenix. And it took action so as to block the field office agents from acting on their own pursuant to their knowledge.

        That's what Coleen Rowley's open letter to FBI Director was all about.

          There is ample evidence to conclude the US Government handicapped their Standard Operating Procedures so "a terrorist attack" could unfold. I do not believe the US Government actively participated in 9/11 but they could certainly be accused of purposefully turning a blind eye. If 9/11 never occured then nothing that the Bush Administration did "in response" (Patriot Act, Iraq, EITs, etc) would have been OKed by the Congress or the people of this country.
