Rupert Murdoch: Obama Policies "Dangerous"

June 08, 2009 5:34 pm ET by Karl Frisch

If there was any doubt over what News Corp. (Fox News' parent company) chairman Rupert Murdoch thinks of President Obama's policies, this should clear things up.

Per Danny Shea at the Huffington Post:

Rupert Murdoch told Fox Business Network's Neil Cavuto Monday morning that Barack Obama is not an extremist but that his policies "dangerous" for America. He also said that the Boston Globe will not disappear and that his recently installed #2, Chase Carey, is by no means his "heir apparent."

"I think Barack Obama would describe himself as a pragmatic leftist but he's not an extremist," Murdoch said. "I think he sees himself as a president for change and that involves bigger government. He's made no secret of that. I think that's dangerous."

The only reason Murdoch thinks Obama is dangerous, is in a few more years Murdoch media empire will be down to one viewer, himself.

I doubt President Obama would describe himself as any sort of leftist. Neither would anybody on the left. Being to the left of Rupert Murdoch does not make you leftist.

Of course he wouldn't. Left wing wackos NEVER describe themselves as such. They think they are mainstream and that most people think like them. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Obama stood on the world stage and demanded that suspected terrorists be treated under the “rule of law.” In fact, he used the phrase “rule of law” eight times. It is now time for him to use the phrase “rule of law” when it comes to Americans, the (many retirees) secured bond holders of GM received $.29 on the dollar even as non-secured creditors received higher values and ended up with a 55% ownership of the new company, which is fundamentally wrong and a dangerous precedent to the capital markets.”
These are the actions of a leftist buying votes from the union. What would you call it?

If Obama's policies are dangerous to Murdoch, they're probably good for America.

Obama's policies are the same as Hillary Clinton's, whom this idiot supported during the primaries.

Obama's policies are a rip-roarin' cash cow for you. Now you have something to be "fair and balanced" about......(LOL)
Thank God for Obama, because now 32% of the nation has a news outlet to keep their bass-akwards view of American going....but watch out, that the women, jews and other non-aryan groups at fox don't get caught in their own snit.

Wait a minute. Murdoch's New York Post endorsed Obama in the primaries: http://www.nypost.com/seven/01302008/postopinion/editorials/post_endorses_barack_obama_813218.htm

Was he not dangerous back then?

What does Murdoch know or care about America anyway, except to line his pockets. He's not even American, but born in Australia. He had newspapers there, then went to England, (where he is despised, I know, because I live there), then the U.S. and took over the NY Post, Faux News and the Wall Street Journal. The WSJ wasn't doing much reporting on Wall Street, now was it?

I don't give a rat's behind what Murdoch, thinks or says, or his puppeteers, for that matter.

Rupert Murdoch is afraid that unlike GW Bush, President Obama will make it difficult and hopefully impossible for him to continue to expand his facist propaganda empire by buying up more news, radio and tv outlets leading to a monopoly and fixed news reports. Typical right wing opportunist....He doesn't care about the country...only his pocket book...which is already busting at the seams. GREEDY GOPer

Barry's fiscal policies are going to send us into oblivion if his social policies don't do it first.

      Economy sinks with stimulus

Unemployment at 9.4%. Didn't Barry and the tax cheat say it wouldn't get any higher than 8%? Our local Dodge franchise (family owned for over 50 years) just received their pink slips. I wonder if this was the change the UAW and the auto industry was thinking about?

Wow. You must be a real insider if you know the President well enough to call him "Barry." If, however, you are just making an impotent attempt at denigration by using a diminutive nickname (just as when William Hortin became "Willie," a name he never used and was never called, but made him sound like a dangerous black man to the GOP, who never saw a racist term they couldn't call someone), all we have to do is check out your handle.

If I had a choice, I'd much rather be called "Barry" than "T-Bone." The former sounds like a name for a person who has lots of friends. The latter is just a name for a slab of dead meat.

If you're so concerned with your local Dodge dealership then you must be in favor of bailing out the automakers. Did you bring up your concerns with the RNC?

Wasn't your side against attempts to save the American auto industry?

Isn't it AMAZING how the morons on the right think that everything was PERFECT at 11:59 a.m. on January 20, 2009 - and all the financial problems started shortly after noon when Presiden Obama took the oath?

From a man that encourages his Fox News employees to sway public opinion against the President, it comes as no surprise he would have nothing but negative things to say about Obama and his policies. Where were all these Mr. know-it-all when Bush policies was destroying the economy? They did not warn the American people of the looming disaster, nor were they critical of Bush policies (like they are of Obama’s) which proved to be real "dangerous" for the country.
These Obama haters are sheer idiots devoid of any, I repeat, any credibility. None of these racist bastards were this vocal while Bush was killing the economy and lying to the American people.
They are spitting on democracy and spitting in the face of the voting American public who wanted change. They can’t accept the fact that the American people rejected John McCain and the Republican Party in favor of adopting a new direction, by a man who continue to out smart and out wit all the nay Sayers. I say the hell with all those fools who want to continue the fail policies that put this country on the path of destruction

Poor Rupert, he should be concerned. Policies and discussions of them introduce facts. He's lees concerned about policy than people treating his slanted media outlets with the disdain they've earned over the years.
