NPR's On The Media tags along on Gawker "ambush" of one of O'Reilly's ambush producers

June 27, 2009 5:26 pm ET by Karl Frisch

NPR's On The Media ambushes the ambusher:

In the past few years, "The O'Reilly Factor" has adopted an old tradition from "60 Minutes"-era TV journalism: the ambush interview. We talk to John Cook, investigations editor for Gawker, who says that Bill O'Reilly uses the ambush to settle personal scores. Plus, OTM producer PJ Vogt describes shadowing Cook as he tried to ambush an ambusher.

Give it a listen.

"Bill O'Reilly uses the ambush to settle personal scores."

And all this time I thought he did it cause he's "lookin' out for us".

I'd like to see someone press charges against his lackeys for stalking.

Of course he was looking out for you. If it weren't for O'Reilly and Watters, you wouldn't have known how much of a danger people like Amanda Terkel present to... the... uh... reputations of people like O'Rei... oh, I guess it really was about him.

Don't be ridiculous, pete. The danger was that Terkel hates women. ;)

Ah, of course, I get it. And it was O'Reilly who was standing up for the safety and security of women by sending Watters out to... uh... stalk and accost a... uh... woman...

I guess I can't help but be ridiculous about this. :-D

More accurately, he's "out, looking for us".
