Washington Times says Supreme Court's Ricci ruling means "Martin Luther King can rest easy" from threat of Sotomayor

EDITORIAL: Sotomayor reversed again

Martin Luther King can rest easy. His dream is being protected by the Supreme Court - against and over the opinion of Supreme Court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor.

The high court's landmark decision in Ricci v. DeStefano, the New Haven, Conn., firefighters case, is a dramatic stride toward the cherished goal of achieving a colorblind society. In Ricci, the court told us that people of ability can succeed regardless of skin color, and government bureaucrats seeking racially biased outcomes can be thwarted in their racist designs.

      Conservatives have no idea how bad they look when they use Dr. King to score political points. Who are they trying to fool? They have turned this into Sotomayor and Obama are racist against whites. It is unreal and total BS. Lets have a discussion about her total record on race related decisions. I am sure the Washington Times does not want to do that.

        They know that no one ever actually looks anything up. If they did they would find stuff like this.

      I guess conservatives will now come out more strongly when members of the Republican party/conservative movement say and do racist things as they continue to do so often(re: SC and Tenn -about the Pres and 1st Lady).Somehow I think those that saw no racism in the dead Chimpanzee cartoon are the same ones celebrating this decision as confirming so called "reverse racism".
      I find it really perturbing that Dr.King is held up now by the same type of conservatives /republicans that branded him a communist/trouble maker,etc..not all that long ago!!!!
