        Well said, Pete!

I'll be at Fenway Park on July 3rd and enjoying BBQ with my family on the 4th as we celebrate the birth of our nation. I'm proud to be an American and grateful for the fact the this country emerging from very tough times.

Fenway? I'm sorry. But then again I can't be at Comerica Park. My Tigers are out of town that weekend.

The tea parties are so pathetic. Do the yahoos who attend these parties think they are going to change anyone's opinion? Obama still has high popularity ratings. The tea parties only serve to make the attendees look ridiculous in front of a camera but they haven't figured that out yet.

Oh, how quickly you forget the power of the people as they mass-mobilize to tea bag... check out Cody Willard from April's Boston Tea Bag; he hardly had elbow room to Tweet!

Are FOX Noise still alleging that they're only COVERING the tea parties and not participating in any of their organization?

That's pretty good, Jassmine. Trying to pretend that every 4th of July event is a Teabagathon. The propaganda is getting weaker all the time.

I'll just look out for anybody trying to light the teabag string and covering their ears to know who the Real Americans® are

This probably won't sink in, but those of us who conceived of the tea parties are quite upset with the Republicans co-opting it and turning it into an Obama hate fest. It started as protests against the unfair taxing of everyone by BOTH parties and a desire to extricate ourselves from the ongoing drum beat of globalism. These are not Republican or Democrat ideals, just ideals that anyone that wants to not be treated as slaves.
I would also like to point out that when Bush was doing insane crap, you certainly thought that charges against Democrats of being un-American were low blows. Why use the same name calling when it's not your opinion? Resistance to bad ideas, no matter what side of the aisle they come from, is VERY American!

"It started as protests against the unfair taxing of everyone by BOTH parties"

At the same time, Obama became president and proposed a tax DECREASE for most of America. THIS is why the teabagging became the subject of ridicule from the left: the timing, the false premise, and the insane hypocrisy. These, among other reasons, are why the right-wing owns the tea parties, not because the GOP "hijacked" it.

You sat in silence while every outrageous spending bill for an unjustified war was passed. Then someone else comes into office who thinks we should be spending money rebuilding America instead rebuilding Iraq, and suddenly right-wingers are whining about being SLAVES to a socialist-fascist-Marxist-communist (take your pick) dictatorship.

You are totally wrong. I am the organizer and promoter of a July 4 Tea Party and I am an individual who entirely funded this event, no politician and no party has been involved whatsoever. I have never organized a thing in my community until now and I am not a right wing kook. Instead, I have watched the insane pace of government regulations and intrusions (both personal and on the business side) explode. This is not about the current or past administration, it is about the overreaching of government in all of our individual affairs. It is about Congress passing laws without reading them, which would be malpractice in any other job. It is about dictating what people can do and cannot do instead of allowing individuals to make decisions that are based on individual responsibility. It is about having a work ethic and not relying on the government for hand outs. It is about having the freedom to choose, and having the freedom to fail if you make a bad decision. It is about nepotism, greed and payoffs and bailouts by the same corrupt politicians of either party. It is about the silent majority that work, pay their taxes, and expect the government to work for them. It is about stopping the insane amount of spending on thousands of government programs that do no good and create no ingenuity, jobs or sense of responsiblity. This is not about either party, it is about our country. You are so wrong, entirely wrong and just don’t get it.

p.s. Our Tea Party is a true celebration of our country's birthday, it is Independence Day.

And I completely stand behind my opinion on the timing. This is a right-wing effort and you're not going to convince me otherwise.
