In Wash. Times column, Breitbart declares officer in Gates arrest "a Rosa Parks of rush-to-judgment 'reverse racism' "

July 27, 2009 7:40 am ET by Media Matters staff

From Andrew Breitbart's July 27 Washington Times column:

Sgt. Crowley, a proud and defiant public professional, played the moment perfectly and stopped his own assassination by media. Talk about a postmodern hero. Whether he likes it or not, Sgt. Crowley is a potent symbol of how the union has managed to become more perfect, a Rosa Parks of rush-to-judgment "reverse racism."

Now that the facts of the case show that his friend the professor was the man doing the racial profiling, the president wants to end the discussion.

Now we see what the attorney general meant when he spoke of cowards.

Now we see what the general public meant when they say that people who write fifth-rate Hollywood gossip columns shouldn't comment on topics way outside their knowledge and ability to comprehend.

What the heck is he talking about? Sgt. Crowley had the backing of his police union! My hubby is a retired NYC cop and believe me the union stands by their guys under any circumstances! In many large cities it is nearly impossible to have a cop fired- he would have had to do something really really really awful.
Geez, the conservatards are making Crowley out to be their next poster boy- like Joe the Plumber.
Comparing him to Rosa Parks is insulting!

Crowley doesn't make a good poster boy for them. Despite not having voted for Obama, he "supports the president 110%." That won't go over too well with the tea-bagging secessionists.

Actually he's the Miss California of fake persecution. Nowhere did he or his supporters produce a valid reason for the arrest. And it's the right pumping up the "black president picking on white guys" angle to the story.

What in hell is this fool talking about? What 'facts of the case' show that Prof Gates is guilty of racial profiling? That's got to be the stupidest thing I've ever read.

To the person who gave the thumbs down: Please explain how the Professor was guilty of racial profiling.

Racism and discrimination can not and will not be tolerated from any source in this country.

Abuse, verbal or otherwise, of commissioned law enforcement officers during the conduct of their duties can not and will not be tolerated from any source in this country as well.

If there is a problem with how the officer conducts him/herself, tell it to the judge.
