        Excellent point. He should just opt out of Medicare and tear up those pesky SS checks when they arrive in the mail (oh wait, he should also remove his mailbox from his house so the socialist USPS can no longer oppress him)

        I had that discussion a few years back with a Con on another board. He swore up and down that he would never take SS. I tried to explain to him how foolish this was since they've been deducting it from his pay his entire working life but he swore up and down he would never take it. Of course when he's retirement age he may change his tune (he was mid-to-late 20's I think.)
