This can't really be happening, can it?

July 30, 2009 3:08 pm ET by Jamison Foser

Earlier today, MSNBC showed video footage of Henry Louis Gates walking to a car, on his way to the airport.

Now they have a countdown graphic showing -- to the second -- how much time remains before the "BEER SUMMIT."  Like it's a space shuttle launch.  But with a sketch of three frosty mugs of beer.

I have to admit, all this talk about beer is making me crave a tall frosty cool one.

I'm partial to Chimay myself. All the Belgian beers I've tried have been really good. They pack a punch too.

You know I don't think I've tried the blue one. Love the red and the gold. It's so expensive I haven't had one for a long time.

MSNBC jumped the shark a long time ago.

The Beer Summit Countdown Clock is the equivalent of Mork from Ork showing up at the Cunninghams' house.

I watched MSNBC earlier and the host were whining about the Woman not being invited to the so-called "Beer Summit." Therefore, I am not surprised. Didn't you watch the white house press corps (J. Tapper, Chip Reid and others) in the briefing room today complaining about not being given the opportunity to cover their "lovely summit" and learn about the teachable moment...

CNN also joined the countdown. Who says the media reports the news regarding the critical issues that face the nation. What they do is to pull out a sound bite, ignore the context, invent a controversy, fan the flames and then play the innocent who is trying to comprehend what just happened... MAINSTREAM MEDIA

D.C.'s disorderly conduct statute bars citizens from breaching the peace by doing anything "in such a manner as to annoy, disturb, interfere with, obstruct, or be offensive to others" or by shouting or making noise "either outside or inside a building during the nighttime to the annoyance or disturbance of any considerable number of persons."

So why isn't the Republican caucus arrested for this every day?

What would be funny is if this "beer summit" caused everyone to buy enough beer that it stimulates the economy and ends the economic crisis. Lol!
