Why won't Obama just go away?

August 06, 2009 11:18 am ET by Eric Boehlert

He's soooo overexposed. (Ego much?) All the media elites think so.

And no, don't be silly, it's not the press that's overexposing Obama.

Why would you think that?

Next Thursday (August 6th), CNN's primetime schedule will feature a few changes from the usual evening line-up to commemorate the second 100 days of the Obama presidency.

At 8pmET, CNN will air "The CNN National Report Card: Second 100 Days" followed by Anderson Cooper at 10pmET. The two-hour "Report Card" special will reair at midnight and 4amET and will act as a sequel of sorts to the "First 100 Days" special CNN ran in April.

      President Obama gives America Hope.
Similar to what faith does thru the Pope.
I like seeing my President Every Day.
I gives me a feeling of Peace and takes away my Dismay.

      Speak truth to power.

How can our President be overexposed? We are in the worst financial crisis in a generation, waging war on two fronts, and have legislation of historic context under consideration. Obama would be remiss not to be out front promoting his messages and projects. People need the president to disseminate useful information about his proposals. Go to whitehouse.gov and get educated. The media has 24/7 exposure on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, amd their spinoffs to misinform, understate issues and exagerate conflict. There is no such thing as an overexpsoed president, I wish he had a daily 30 minute program just to talk.

And how many times has an Obama been on the cover of national magazines?? Oh, that must be more of the Obama ego, right?

If he wasn't out there telling us what's going on so frequently they'd be saying he'd broken his promise of transparancy. Once again he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

I distinctly remember the press complaining Obama was not out there enough back during stimulus. What a bunch of a$$clowns.

Alot people feel the same as I do. This particular president makes you feel like things are being okay and it's under control. You feel with this president, we will get through whatever just fine.
That is something only a few presidents have been able to do.

Don't be fooled. The press has business tactics. They cover high-profit-making "products." As long as the business is good, they will continue to cover the president. They are selfish. The coverage is conflict-driven. What amazes me is the way they ask Robert Gibbs, every single day at the morning gaggles if the president will talk to them during the day. If he passes by without waving at them, they get mad. When Burton twits, they complain. Ahhhh the press

As for CNN, I don't know what to say. Bash, King, Wolf Blizter, Borger, Cooper (the "breaking-repeated news guy), Frum, Bennet, Carville, Begala... are paid because of the president activities and choices of words like stupidity... When the press cry wolf, I just laugh it off.

I think the nation's leader should speak to the people who got him elected more. Bush never did as much and I can also never recall any other presidents before him who came and talked to the public more then Obama. Even Roosevelt didn't talk to people as much in the 30's and 40's. He has staff who should talk for him, but he thinks the people would feel more comfortable if they heard the real deal from him.
