Still in denial about swastikas at town hall protests, Limbaugh takes on David Brooks

On "Meet the Press" this morning, host David Gregory played a brief clip of Limbaugh's monologue -- a sentence in which Limbaugh said, "There are far more similarities between Nancy Pelosi and Adolf Hitler than between these people showing up at town halls to protest a Hitler-like policy" -- and then asked guest David Brooks to comment. "I hadn't seen the Rush Limbaugh thing," Brooks said. "That is insane. What he's saying is insane."
I asked Limbaugh for a reaction, and here is his answer:Everyone seems to ignore that Pelosi started this, saying town hall participants were showing up with swastikas, etc. That's calling them Nazis, as Dick Durbin referred to our Gitmo interrogators from the Senate floor. I've been listening to the left compare George W. Bush to Hitler for eight years. I've been listening to Democrats and the left compare conservatism to Nazis my whole career. This time I responded. In kind, by comparing the radical left policies of the Nazis to today's radical left leadership of the Democrat Party. I'm not surprised they don't like it.

Jonah Goldberg goes in search of swastikas
Why is Byron York silent about Limbaugh and Beck calling Obama a Nazi?

2 That's calling them Nazis
non sequitur: one idea does not follow from another.
One example had a 'negation' symbol, implying that the person opposed either Nazis or Hindus (also possible: Native Americans had a form on 'swastika'). The implication from that is the person was protesting what they believed to be 'nazi-like', referring to the proposed Health Care (Insurance) Reform Bill.
Up is down, black is white . . .
Rush has been comparing political opponents to Nazis for at least 17 years.
Really?
Limbaugh has decided to use January 20, 2001 as his start point. He complains that Democrats compared George W. Bush to Nazis. Setting aside the fact that an executive who ignores election results, lies his country into a discretionary war, implements policies that favor the rich and corporations at the expense of the population in general, perverts the justice system to reward political allies and punish political opponents, and implements warrantless searches and wiretaps, detention without charges, and other measures designed to curb individual liberties SHOULD BE compared to Nazis, I'll make the point that Limbaugh doesn't go back far enough.
After 20 years of "feminazis," "Der Schlickmeister," Der Schlickster, "Algore," (It's like Igor in the Frankenstein movie, get it? GET IT?), "the French looking Senator from Massachusetts," and "Barack Obama, like Hitler, ruled by dictate," I think we know Limbaugh is in no position to criticize anyone else for saying anything. Further, anything he says is a lie on its face, so he doesn't have the credibility to criticize anyone else, either.
Rush, Rush, waaaah, David Brooks said you were insane and, and I wanted to tell you first, was I first, huh, huh, was I? Well, what do you think, huh huh?
The Corner is a joke and so are the fools who occupy it. The long-term unemployable collecting welfare.

This is a specific sort of lie that the Right has always been fond of, and it's a particularly blatant one. Pelosi was describing the sort of behavior that Limbaugh is accusing her of. Wingnuts love to do this with all sorts of hot-button topics: If you call out hatespeech, then you are a vicious hatemonger; if you call out racism, then you are the racist; if you point out the use of inflammatory Hitler comparisons, then you are the one making inflammatory Hitler comparisons.
Pelosi wasn't calling anyone a Nazi! Why can't somebody in the media come out and say that?
As of Firday the DOW was up 17.9%, the S&P up 25.5% and the Nasdaq up 38.8% since Obama took office. (And that’s in just eight months! Not even a full year!)
Just thought you'd all want to know. (I guess "fascism" works, huh?) Moron.
