WND CEO, birther Joseph Farah: "Sean Hannity for president"

August 26, 2009 7:44 am ET by Media Matters staff

From an August 26 WorldNetDaily "exclusive commentary" by WND founder, editor, and CEO Joseph Farah:

He will need a lot of encouragement to step into this breach.

So that is what I am offering here.

I like Sean Hannity.

I respect Sean Hannity.

He's a righteous man.

He has all the ingredients of a good leader -- a great leader.

And America is very much in need of a great leader.

I hope other Americans will join me in offering him encouragement to consider this mission - and consider it very seriously.

Farah added: "I could get excited about a Sean Hannity candidacy. I could get excited about a Sean Hannity presidency. I even hear he has a birth certificate."

As Media Matters for America has noted, WND and Farah have repeatedly pushed the conspiracy theory that Obama does not have a valid birth certificate and was born in Kenya. Hannity himself has advanced and defended birth certificate theories.

Hell, I'd like to see his high school diploma...the original. Why won't Sean produce it...? What is he hiding...? Hmmmmm...

I'd love to see Hannity in a moderated debate where he couldn't interrupt and talk over his opponent. He'd never make it. He might actually have to address a point made instead of trying to obliterate it with his own nasty voice.

[Hannity is another one of those phony conservatives on Fox who will say ANYTHING he believes his audience wants to hear.]

Oh please, please let Sean do this. Because he would be done in about 2 days. He is a moron, and if everyone doesn't know that now, they certainly would as soon as he started running for anything.

Wing Nut Daily finally gets a good idea!

Run Sheer "Hot Air" InSannity out there. Let him debate (without a telephone cut-off switch) intelligent people (not just those who get through his call screeners) on the issues (not RNC talking points) of the day.

Perhaps Sarah Palin will run as his VP.

      Go InSannity! GO!

As a side note, this tactic is one of InSannity's favorites when he wants to suck up to a guest. "Where are you going to announce that you're running for President?" he'll ask a long-shot who would be lucky to be elected dog catcher.

It scares me when anyone from the right claims to have a mission - bad things always seem to follow.

Hannity and Palin, 2012. You know it could set a record on vote getting. After all has there ever been a republican ticket get 6 votes.

I know, I know, you're wondering where the other 4 votes come from. I figured there are at least 4 other people that are just as crazy as these two.

Seriously, where is this Hannity for president crap coming from all of a sudden? Is it Franken envy? Is it an attempt to make Sarah Palin look legit by comparison?

Bingo!! If a dingbat liar like Palin can get within a whisper of the Vice Presidency, why can't a PROFESSIONAL liar like Hannity become president?

I would love to see it happen. I think even Palin could out perform Hannity in a debate.
