I won't be recommending Carbonite or Citrix to any of my customers that's for sure.

Probably should start looking at the advertisers in the local markets, especially the bigger ones.

Say what you will, his ratings are through the roof. His re-runs KILL anything MSNBC puts on at any hour.

We know there are a lot of idiots in the world. Beck's ratings confirm that. It's also utterly irrelevant to the topic.

Cable News Ratings for Wednesday, September 2nd (25-54 demo):

      Beck (5pm) - 637
      Olbermann (8pm) - 368
      Maddow (9pm) - 369

When does this boycott make a difference? What is the end goal?

I'm not saying Obama is a racist, but I'll bet I can find more "evidence" that he is a racist than Beck. I still have yet to hear from anyone on this site what Beck believes in that makes him racist.

BagNewsNotes comments on the propaganda techniques that Beck is using, techniques that are highly reminiscent of, shall we say, an earlier era.
Naw, there's no question that the boycott is entirely justified.

I signed up for Carbonite last month, and I'd like to report that they really do put out a good product.

You wrote them "leters"? Gosh! I hope they appreciate your sentiment. Those Korean guys are probably jumping with glee!

I have sent an email to all the companies I shop at or do business with telling them I will not do business with them until they pull their ads from Mr. Beck's show. If we all did this, Mr. Beck would be left with nothing more than a right wing fund raiser. Please, let these companies know they will loose business if they continue to support this (dare I say) show!

So what happened to the oft-regurgitated neocon claim that other advertisers would jump in to take the place of the ones who are boycotting? Doesn't seem to have happened, does it?

If I were just handed this list of advertisers, and without knowing the particulars, I would have guessed this was something that appeared on a local program showing terrible science fiction movies in the middle of the night.

And to our friends who cannot deal with the success of the boycott and go to the "but, but the ratings!" defense, I would ask a simple pair of questions: If what Beck did was okay, why hasn't he repeated himself (i.e., confirmed his opinion that the president really is a racist with a deep-seated hatred of white people) since? And if what Beck did wasn't okay, why hasn't he apologized?
