Politico's Micahel Calderone reports:

An MSNBC spokesperson issued a statement ot [sic] POLITICO: "An editorial decision was made to remove the column from msnbc.com. Pat is a contributor to MSNBC, his syndicated column does not speak for the network or represent the views of MSNBC"

This qualifies as a response? DVDs have the same disclaimer regarding the director's commentary.

What is with this word 'syndication'? Every one that writes anything appears to be a syndicated 'for something'.
Does the syndicating agency have any responsibility for who they are syndicating?

Syndication refers to having a third party who 'sell' the creator's work (Limbaugh, Randi Rhodes, Dr. Laura) to the actual stations/publishers (KXYZ, WKRP, newspaper or whatever). Premiere Radio Networks handle all three of those I listed and more, including Coast To Coast AM (Check out a list of their talk programs here). Since all they do is make the sale between the creator ('seller') and the paper or station (buyer), they do not monitor the content, and are not responsible to the FCC or any other agency for what is presented, that is up to the paper or station.

I went to the website a few minutes ago and saw the article had been remove. Good! Thank you MM for calling them out. What I don't understand is why MSNBC continues to deal with Pat Buchanan. Why do they constantly put themselves in such an awkward position? It's just a matter of time before he says something even more outrageous. There has to be someone insisting he stay on there. I can't imagine a contract worth the grief they must get.

This is just not acceptable. MSNBC needs to either cut their affiliation with this hate-monger all together or pay a steep price for associating with Buchanon.

As a CONTRIBUTOR, he speaks for MSNBC. He's a bigoted, racist, anti-Semitic jerk.

Perhaps Rachel and Keith can both be ballsy enough to call out the old racist bastard and do the job for MSNBC that the upper management has been unwilling or unable to do themselves??

This kind of revisionist history and defending of a lunatic like Hitler is something expected over at Fox Noise...

Hey, just look at the recent circus clowns that have joined over at that disaster... Glenn Beck and Tucker Carlson. Pat would be a perfect fit over at Fixed News, all things considered.

If color of change can initiate an action against Glenn Beck, perhaps MM or someone similar can start an action to remove Pat Buchanan from MSNBC or any other cable outlet.
His article isn't an attempt to offer a different view of the start of WWII but a true apologia for Hitler and his policy.
It would be unbelievable except Buchanan has been on this path before.
