Michael Savage gets bounced off the air in his own hometown

In fact, KNEW in San Francisco serves as Savage's flagship station for his syndicated radio show. Make that was. As Think Progress reported, the station yanked Savage off the air today. Permanently.

The station's statement:

We have decided to go in a different philosophical and ideological direction, featuring more contemporary content and more local information. The Savage Nation does not fit into that vision.  

I'm sure The New Yorker is crushed.

            I suspect that if a whale (actually, the Bible says it was a big fish, but that's okay) swallowed Savage, it wouldn't have kept him down for three days, like with Jonah, but would have barfed him onto the shore in minutes. Whales are fairly bright, after all.

      I am very disapointed that this station's is one of a socialists vision. I will not listen to this anti American station ever again. I suspect that Glenn Beck will be next because he, like Savage are freedom loving individuals who have Obama correct. This is a slap in the face of freedom of expression and I hope some other station picks him up because they will also pick up more listeners who will find out that this station has decided to become a socialist sation who will not support freedom of speech. Good riddance to KNEW off my radio and goodbye to the KNEW a station who has become anti American.

      Looks like they still have Beck. I live in that area and I am surprised they dumped him. Popped on to their "new" website and 85% of their listeners say they hate new station. Seems like same people to me. When Beck's gone, then we'll see...

      Michael Savage was indeed the voice of reason in an unreasonable society. Reminds me a bit of history. History repeats itself because nobody was listening the first time. He reminded us of that daily. But in San Francisco, people are too busy griping about every last thing under the sun to see the light.

      Radio stations do switch formats and shows all the time, so I'm not convinced that the reason is because of anything Savage has done or not done.

      But if it is, the Media Matters is surely to be congratulated for keeping the spotlight on Savage constantly.

      Either way, this is good news for anyone who wants sane and factual political discourse.

      He will be back soon.Micheal Savage is awesome to listen to.I dont agree with some of the things he says but one thing I do agree with him on is media matters is a liberal anti-capitalist outlet for liberal rats..

      Ask yourself this: is Michael Savage unable to form any kind of emotional bond with another person? Does he seem to be always without empathy for others? Does he do things that to you seem beyond comprehension; and then carry on as if those actions made no difference? Is he in trouble with the law and other authorities? Does he like dangerous, outrageous or socially/sexually unacceptable activities (such as sexual intercourse with farm animals )that provide a thrill? If you see this dynamic in Michael Savage, you are very probably dealing with a sociopath.

        so glad to see this loony lose his sf station. i heard him first on kgo many years ago and never understood the attraction to him particularly because kgo had liberal to moderate hosts on their station at that time. years before he started on kgo, he went from liberal to ultra nutty conservation because he (michael weiner) was turned down for the job of chancellor for uc berkeley because it was given to an asian. he went off the deep end and turned into the bitter person he is today.

      Anyone who voices an opinion against King Obama will be crushed. Next year, will it be the concentration camps for those who express their oposition to the King? I think I will retire and start living off of government support and entitlements, until all the money runs out and/or the printing presses cease to work, then what??
