Help Media Matters monitor FAIR's anti-immigration "radio rally"!

September 14, 2009 3:59 pm ET by MMFA Staff

On September 15 and 16 (Tuesday and Wednesday of this week), the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) -- an organization designated a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center -- will be holding its annual "Hold Their Feet to the Fire radio rally" in Washington, D.C. The rally will feature CNN's Lou Dobbs and dozens of other radio hosts using their radio shows to broadcast FAIR's extreme anti-immigration agenda. Participants broadcasting from past FAIR events have included prominent "birthers" and a radio host who has reportedly said of undocumented immigrants: "If you commit a crime while you're here, we should hang you and send your body back to where you came from, and your family should pay for it."

Media Matters for America will be monitoring the radio hosts broadcasting from FAIR's rally, and you can help us! If a radio host in your community is participating in the event, just listen to the show, write down anything outrageous or untrue the host says, and send it -- along with the host's name, station, and approximate time (including time zone) -- to mm-tips@mediamatters.org.

FAIR hasn't publicized the names of the participating radio hosts yet, but here's last year's list. It's a good bet that many of the names below will be participating again.

UPDATE: FAIR has posted a list of the radio hosts participating in its 2009 rally here.

Aside from Lou Dobbs (and unfortunately that chowderhead Howie Carr), all I got to say about this list is...

      ...who?

I stopped watching CNN completely now! Largely because of Dobbs but King and Blitzer are just more of the same in more subversive ways.

I guess to these wackos, Leviticus 19:34 only applies to Jews. Except Mark Levin and Michael Savage.....

Lars 'putting the I in LIARS' Larson claims he's scheduled to be programming easily-impressed weak minds from there.

      Add: KXL-AM Portland, OR and/or Compass Media/Syndicated.

As much as -- and that's a lot -- Every. Name. On. The. List has been programming and continues race-baiting and broadcasting subversion, insubordination, sedition, or all four combined, WHY THEN Color Of Change could be heartily supported for furthering efforts to move the SHAME of Beck SPONSORS all across the SHAME of Rightwing Defamation SPONSORS.

Please -- Link to a website with anti-American ultra Rightwing SPONSOR List of who to call/ fax/ write/ deride for funding Sicko Radio.

Move over MoveOn. Better yet: Move on.

BOYCOTT of Sponsors is the lesser worry for Sicko radio Sponsors. SPONSORS each spend Big Bucks advertising in full FOREknowledge the cash goes to programming rabid Rightwing riot. When one single mean-mouth says one single instance of 'Vote for a Candidate/Party,' or, 'Vote against a Candidate/Party,' (in verbatim or in substantially the same meaning), THEN the SPONSORS have made a partisan Political CAMPAIGN Contribution, and the F.E.C. could pounce on that -- every SPONSOR Campaign Contribution being regulated under Federal Election Commission rules.

Shoveling CASH into one-sided LOP-SIDED sicko political radio ADVERTISING, which is keeping the brain-programming in the air, is EFFECTIVELY the SAME as putting money in a campaign which takes it out to buy airtime, (cutting out the intermediary 'PAC'). THAT's a partisan Campaign Contribution from rightwing business and let's DEMAND the NAMES of the SPONSOR businesses, in order to keep wise customer money away from funding mental depravity.

It may or may not be illegal -- AD Buys being Campaign Contributions -- but it is REGULATED and the business SPONSORS can expect to be listed in the Public Record. And fined when exceeding the capped limit of contributions per 'election cycle.'

The "anti-immigration" label is the biggest LIE in the immigration debate. I'm tired of people and groups being labeled "anti-immigration" for wanting immigrants to follow the LAW when they come here and for wanting our government to uphold those LAWS!! What the hell is the problem with just following the law? It isnt "anti-immigration" anymore than a person wanting others to obey the speed limit is "anti-transportation". Give me a ------- break. Its rediculous and I shouldnt have to correct this blatant inaccurate "jounalism", someone should have beaten me to it when the article was posted. Come on, if you want to have the debate, at least be truthfull.

And I'm tired of people like you giving us the "we just want them to follow the law" crap when we all know you're just opposed to people whose skin is a different color than yours. Go somewhere else and get a life, OK????

Skin color? Really? Is that all it comes down too? Forget the diseases that can be spread if people are not checked before entering the country. Forget about illegal tax evasion yet the usurping of social services. Forget the language barrier. Forget the employer's that illegally hire these people and essentially treat them like slaves (because they know they will be deported if they say anything). Forget about the loophole that even if you are illegal your child becomes a citizen costing taxpayers more money. You get a life. I am "brown skinned" but my ancestors had to wait on a list before they entered the country.

That's all you got? You dont know me. You dont know my friends. You dont know what skin color I am. You dont know your posterior orifice from a hole in the ground. I never brought up race, only the law. You brought race into this because you dont have anywhere else to go. My argument is sound, direct, to the point, and youve got nothing but skin color. Oh, you do have one thing. You seem to think that following the law is...how did you put it? Oh yea..."crap". Your pathetic attempt to argue against me was really disapointing. Do me a favor. For future reference, when you see my posts, just walk away. Your not on my level yet...

What a misconception all of us have about "ILLEGAL" , let me try to clarify it

First we need to understand a few things very clearly and we need to be realistic about it.

The so called legal way to enter this country and waiting in line does not exist. If anybody differs on this please visit the USCIS website. The only people who are allowed in a relatives of US citizens (Family Class), People with high Degrees(H1), people with money (e visa , L1 visa) or finally people who have achieved a status in their life (sportsman etc etc). The other way is to arrive here and apply for asylum which again is a cumbersome and a difficult process.

having said that most Hispanics DO NOT have a legal way to come here or wait inline. Most visa categories which do allow people to come in have a waiting period of Years. Today if you want to bring your real brother from any Asian country the approx wait is 10 years.

So what options are open ??????? Not much

On the other side let me ask you another question and I hope you will look into your own soul and answer honestly.

Is it wrong to think about improving you and your families lifestyle, cause if it is than the whole outlook of this country is wrong because that is our main belief in this country (FAMILIES)

When you have no option left and your families are on the verge of starvation , would you sit tight and do nothing about it.

Very easy to point fingers at other, but these people who come to this country do so in the hope of making a difference in their families lifestyle which again is the essence of our society as well. These people are making a decision to leave their loved ones behind and at time do not even see them for years , they loose their near and dear ones to mishaps / deaths and still cannot go back .

We who live here have a support system in our families and we are there for each other in time of need , while the people who made the hard choice of crossing have nobody and they are actually all alone with no support whatsoever. By being here alone they have no roots in this country and hence are sending all that they earn back to their respective countries.

I know it for a fact that if you give these people a chance to become legal in this country , we will have such a huge big economic stimulus that it would fix our system in a short period. Can you imagine 12 million cars sold in the next few years. Cash for clunkers sold few hundred thousand cars and turned around the car industry, when we only produce a million car a year , imagine a sudden demand for 12 – 18 million cars cause this is the first thing these people will do.
Obviously when they will have their roots here they will try to build themselves here which would positively include more spending here and less remittance abroad. Quite a few of them would try to settle here and buy houses which would turn around the house market. A lot of them who at this time are living under shadows and have no priorities in life except their family back home will work towards becoming good citizens.
At this stage we could come up with legislation in which could impose a tax / fee of $1000.00 per person for the next ten years and believe me all of them would pay that for the chance to be legalized in this country. Imagine collecting 12-18 millions time $1000.00 each years.
Obviously these people would not abuse any legal system as they would want a chance to be legalized and we could make them buy car / health insurance and make this a part of their legalization process. These people would jump through hoops to be legalized and would accept all and any ways to do it.
One thing needs to be understood here that there is no way we can deport 12-18 million people. Also we need to be humane and understand that majority of these people are good hardworking people who are doing what any of us will do if we are in their show. Just because we were born US citizens does not give us a right to be inhumane.

Let welcome these people and give them a chance to stimulate our economy.

I absolutely reject your idea that we are inhumane. No other country has done more than America to help others around the world. There is nothing inhumane about controlling who comes into OUR country. Correct me if Im wrong, but from your post, it sounds like you think that anyone who wants to come to america should be allowed to. That is rediculous. We are not responsible for providing the entire world a place to go if they need help. We are an independent country of laws, with a constituiton, the right to defend ourselves and to control our borders. If we opened our borders tomorrow, would there be soul left in Mexico? I think not. That would probably be ok with you but its not for me. And it wouldnt be ok with our founding fathers. The border laws and policies are in place for our country's protection and self-preservation. I see you have a bleeding heart for people who dont have in their country what we have here. I get that. But, that doesnt mean we put a revolving door on the border for people to come and go as they see fit.
