"Credit card & debt relief helpline"

Classic. The perfect advertiser for the viewer who likes to vote against his own financial self-interest.

It's a backdoor deal between FEMA and Beck. Beck promotes the FEMA camps, FEMA gets dirt cheap ad slots in return.

FEMA is the only source for flood insurance. Private insurers won't underwrite it. And yes, they can't run it properly.

I just wish MSNBC would cut their ads. Oh that's right that's the only way for them to reach their viewers. Fox may be harsh but at least they report the news. The other networks lag days behind them. I guess some folks would rather have fluff than fact.

Actually, Fox doesn't report the "news," they CREATE the "news" that they want low information folks like you to believe.

None of the cable networks are actually "news" networks, they are opinion networks.

Why on earth are you watching MSNBC?
If clusterfux news gives such good info, why are you changing the channel?
Can you report on any honest "news" that fux reported on during the Bush regime? Please, name one story of any consequence or import that fux honestly and accurately reported on.

The Big Beck Boycott rolls on. As of Sept.18 he continues to crush the liberal competitors and still has plenty of advertisers.

      Beck - 2.9 million
      Big Ed - .6 million
      KO - 1.0 million
      RM - .9 million

I learned...not from my old grandpap...but from practical experience...there comes a time when you've got to quit hitting your foe in the fist with your face.

Wesley, Color of Change's campaign has nothing to do with Beck's ratings. The only relevant question is whether or not FNC is still able to charge top dollar for ad time on Beck's show. Judging by the presence of PSAs and ads by another News Corp. property, FNC does seem to have trouble filling ad time.

Now I forget how the laws of supply and demand work precisely, so maybe you can remind me: what happens when you've got more ad time than people are willing to pay top rate for?

        Ratings do not equal quality.

BTW, you do know that many of the people watching Beck now are watching simply for the entertainment factor . . . many are betting on how long it will be before Beck implodes on national television. One cannot maintain the level of hatred and insanity shown by Beck for an extended period before completely falling apart. Sooner or later, Beck is going to start BELIEVING his own BS . . . he won't be able to help himself at that point.

Oh, and as for the Color of Change boycott? Not a part of it. My letters to the advertisers were written LONG before CoC started their thing . . . I never threatened to boycott. Just asked them if they really wanted that hate-filled nut job representing their products.

So have Glenn Beck's 60 former advertisers. They've learned that you're judged by the company you keep.

Goodness, Wesley, how many times do you have to be schooled on this?

Let's say you are the owner of an outdoor auditorium, and are going to have a rock concert. You hire the bands, pay for advertising, and sell tickets to fans. On the day of the concert, many thousands of ticket buyers enjoy the show. Unfortunately, so do many thousands of gate crashers.

Now, if you counted everyone there, you could say it was a huge success, because so many fans were entertained. But as a businessman, you are appalled because so many people got to see your show without paying.

Beck's ratings are essentially a count of the gate crashers. No matter how many there are, they are not bringing any cash in to Fox. The advertisers are the ticket buyers, and they are the ones staying away.

If you're going to make weak points, at least make some new ones. Boring and wrong is a dreadful combination.

Why must the entire system be changed immediately? Are the administration's plans in the best interest of the country? Why do we have all these advisors to do the work that Congress should be doing? Why can't we slow down a bit and stop letting the government take over every aspect of our lives? Why is everything an "emergency" that must be acted on immediately or we risk "irreversable disaster" and most importantly, why does everything come down to the color of one's skin?
          just asking....

You have proof that "everything come[s] down to the color of one's skin", yes?

You see, it's my impression that actually not everything is racial. A few things are, though: like, for instance, when a host on a cable news network calls the President of the United States a racist with a deep seated hatred of white people or white culture.

Your other questions are more reasonable... but how are they in any way relevant to the previous comment or this discussion thread?
