      There's no evidence there was ever sexual abuse. Consentual homosexual sex between two people 16 or older is not sexual abuse. Conservative's moral stance about how old a person must be in order to have consensual sex doesn't matter - the law matters. Conservative's ideas about the age of the partner of a 16 year old doesn't matter - the law matters.

      Conservatives - if you want to change the law, and make the age of the partner of a 16 yr old relevant, then go try. I can tell you that you will not succeed, as that has been determined to be beyond the reach of the law. It may be personally disgusting to you and to me if there is too large of an age gap, but it's not a legal issue. 16 yr olds in Massachusetts and many other states can consent to sex with another person who's over the age of 16.
