And three makes a trend

Can you say talking points? Somewhere inside the GOP, the message went out over the weekend that right-wing media and the "loons" on the AM dial don't speak for the party, or "real Americans."
Question: Was Friday's Chicago hate-fest the tipping point?
This is likely just a preview for the coming GOP civil war that will erupt in 2011 and 2012 surrounding the party's next presidential pick. Of course, what will be so fascinating to watch is that one side of the purely partisan debate will be led by media outlets. There will likely be a Fox News/talk radio candidate representing the far, far right.
Can't wait.
UPDATED: Make that four. GOP strategist Mike Murphy over the weekend:
These radio guys can’t deliver a pizza, let alone a nomination. And you can case study that out in the last election.

Two words: Sarah Palin.
The question now is whether or not party leaders can shut them down, or at least control them in time before next year's elections. I don't think they can. They have no leader, and Beck, Rush, etal. have been spewing garbage and hate for too long, they now have a sense of power they will not give up, and they are making millions off of it. The right wing media have also created the tea baggers who will also demand a constant reinforcement of their hate and fantasy world view.
They all have a tiger by the tail, and I don't see how they can let go. Can they lose any more seats in Congress? Once they become truly the party of the south, can they ever come back?
"Noun, verb, and 9/11", Mittens, Frederick of Hollywood...all seen as the next big hope. All imploded by the magnitude of their own egos and incompetence.
Then the media bought into, and amplified, the meme that McCain was the winner. But he was pretty much the last man standing. He was all they had left. Suddenly, those who had cast him aside initially started trumpeting McCain as their champion.
And let's not forget how McCain broke election law by accepting a campaign-saving loan, on whose terms he later reneged.
(Yet they smeared Obama as having broke a campaign promise; which he did not.)
Sorry but yes he did he promised to use public funding for his campaign, but that quickly changed after he figured out he have a 2 to 1 money lead on McCain if he didnt use public funding.
I cant wait either. It's important that the alliance between traditional and movement conservatives is broken, and the 2012 Republican primary promises rip open the existing cracks.
I HOPE that the wingnuts and actual Conservatives break apart, but I kinda think that the wingnuts will continue to dominate the media -- they're the ones with the money, and money talks.
It is really in response to the hate that is being spewed on the right wing radio shows, something that has been going on for years or is it because Glenn Beck has broken ranks by saying Obama is a better president then McCain would have been. (Not that I would believe a word Beck says).
This is all about remaking their image, to act like some of them had nothing to do with Beck and Rush and the horrors the theofascist right has created the last 30 years.
This is about putting on a new skin, not a "civil war" - that's BS.
Watch as liberals help them by cheering their latest con as if some of them really have changed.
How many times did Graham speak out against Palin? If that doesn't tell you they are playing a con game I don't what would.
When they quit their party, which has become a national security problem and repent openly, admit how wrong they have been, how deceptive they have been, how low they have been, then I would consider accepting them back in the reality based community, until they do that acting like this anything more than a PR con job is very shortsighted.
I predict Democrats in traditionally conservative districts will end up losing, but the Democrats may see some gains in more metropolitan areas where the conservative hatred has turned off some important voter groups...
If the Democrats were smart, they will start to sneak in immigration reform right before next years elections, which will surely incite the hatred of the right, and draw more Hispanics and foreign born citizens to vote Democratic...
