Limbaugh reportedly says Obama was given Nobel Peace Prize to "continue his intentions to emasculate the United States"

October 09, 2009 11:18 am ET by Media Matters staff

From an October 9 Politico article:

Conservatives pounced on the the Nobel Prize committee's decision to award President Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize, with talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh calling it a "greater embarrassment" than losing the Olympics.

"This fully exposes the illusion that is Barack Obama," Limbaugh told POLITICO in an e-mail. "And with this 'award' the elites of the world are urging Obama, THE MAN OF PEACE, to not do the surge in Afghanistan, not take action against Iran and its nuclear program and to basically continue his intentions to emasculate the United States."

Limbaugh continued: "They love a weakened, neutered U.S and this is their way of promoting that concept. I think God has a great sense of humor, too."

Leave it to a man who was "too good" for the military to say a Man of Peace is not deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize. This is just more hippocracy from Rush the Lush.

It must be tough for Boss Hogg and the other wingnuts to keep up the bluster level as they watch themselves slide further into irrelevancy.

Pity the position they're in; Constantly comforting a million or so terrified teabaggers, reassuring them that they're the majority, that they're normal, that they're the real Americans, especially convincing them they're sane.

As the rest of the world laughs at them, goes about its business in reality, and Rush has to convince his dittonuts that everything outside of his show is some leftist fantasy, that all of those people out there working and trying to fix the problems are a crazy minority.

I really don't think it's possible to listen to Rush's show, not for laughs, but taking it seriously, and be technically sane. It's essentially entertainment for paranoid space cadets at this point.

Rush is always saying that he was once nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize but his nomination was based on his avoiding war (his own participation anyway) not working towards peace.

Well, and he was not actually nominated. There are a bunch of people who are allowed to nominate people, and the person who "nominated" Rush wasn't one of them.

After 8 years of defending everything that Bush / Cheney did, Rush and others should be hounded from the public square. Of course he and his ilk have done their best to try and airbrush what happened and continue those efforts while trying to tear Obama down.

The fact that conservatives (whatever that means) like Rush are always pushing how tough they are and how weak dems are is laughable.

I'd take the first 10 dems in a fight over the first 10 republican on a street corner any day. Of course, dems aren't constantly thrusting their chests out and grunting like Rushbo

But I thought Obama's America was like Hitler's Germany and that we had Mussolini-type death panels and stuff. Now Limbaugh says we're weakened and neutered. I can't keep up....

I saw that Rush will be a guest on the Today show tomorrow. I will not be watching.
