So who's still advertising on Beck? October 23 edition...

October 23, 2009 6:36 pm ET by Media Matters staff

Eighty advertisers have reportedly dropped their ads from Glenn Beck's Fox News program since he called President Obama a "racist" who has a "deep-seated hatred of white people." Here are his October 23 sponsors, in the order they appeared:

Could be (or a Cialis knock off). Pretty sure they're not advertising elevator shoes.

It appears to be a nonsurgical facelift alternative. A scam, I'm guessing.

According to Wikipedia, it's a minimally invasive facelift procedure. The company was charged with "astroturfing" for posting fake, supposedly independent reviews online. They settled.

LifeStyle lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure. Essentially, it is a quick, simplified facelift using surgical products marketed by Angiotech Pharmaceuticals.

I have shopped overstock.com for many years and had planed to for this Christmas. But being I read that their company advertises on Beck I wrote them an e-mail saying I will no longer unless they drop stop.

So who's still watching Beck...2.7 million average this week...clobbering the Big 3 of Olbermann, Maddow, and Big Ed.

      Beck -- 2.7 million
      KO -- 1.2 million
      Maddow -- .9 million
      Big Ed -- .6 million

Maybe the mmfa staff can give an update on the advertising revenue for the Big 3...then we can see just how effect the CoC/mmfa boycott has been.

Still trying to list FOX Propaganda among the news channels, wesley? That's awfully generous of you. Or, perhaps, disingenuous of you. I've always held the opinion that you can't both make the news and report on it.

Wesley didn't compare Beck to news shows, but to talk radio from the left. All three of those listed are idealologs, just as Eddie Haskell Beck. But it appears that to those interested in that sort of thing, Eddie has a "better" schtick.

Couple of problems with that, oscar the grouch. Mr. Olbermann does not currently host a radio show. "So, who's still watching..." would seem to indicate TV, and not radio. As for schtick, Mr. Beck is certainly the craziest clown in the circus, but his televised show is on FOX Propaganda, and ranking it with center-right news channels like MSNBC is a bit of the old apples and oranges, as far as I am concerned.

The Oldermann comment was made in the context of Fox being touted as "talk radio TV", knowing full well that although he has the face for radio, he is on TV.
Interesting figures above. Beck at 5 pm Eastern (with no reruns in prime viewing hours) draws more viewers that the other three combined even though they get West Coast prime time reruns (according to my channel guide). But add all of them together and you are still talking a very minor percentage of the population.

You gotta think, though, that if the shoe were on the other foot and Olbermann routinely doubled Beck's audience that MMFA would be sure to rub it in everyday. Things like:

"Beck's ratings plummet; KO up for third straight month"
"KO doubles Beck in total viewers"
"KO viewership up; Beck viewership down"

Actually, MagCynic, MMfA does sometimes talk about ratings. Of course, that's when someone in the media, Politico this time, makes a foolish assertion that is provable and laughably false.

Aside from that, MMfA has no stake in who's ahead in the horse race. Just trying to make sure the results are accurately reported.

The higher their ratings the lower the GOP ratings. I'm fine with that and thanks for pointing it out.

No boycot is needed.Beck preaches to his choir(you). Use whatever stats that makes you fell good. God bless you and the rest of the choir! I think maybe you should consider the source of your stats. There must be a problem or you would not be on this site, think about that.

Yo, Wesley, PBS' Frontline estimates that there are between 5 and 7 million Muslim Americans.

I think Muslim Americans are far more relevant than Fox Viewers - and there are certainly more of them.

since you want to draw false equicvalencies, I thought I would join in. the network news shows are never included in your figures - and they reach far more households than the cables. Cable news is irrelevant. And Fox isn't even news.

I guess you get your "facts" from Fox Noise. The same people who touted over 1 MILLION PEOPLE who marched on Washington recently, when there was actually under 80,000.

Well I get my numbers the same way you and Fox Noise do:
        Beck---270,000
        KO ----2.4 million
        Maddow---1.8 million
        Big Ed---1.2 million

        Disprove that!

So bigger numbers = better? M'kay:
Percentage of voters who self-identify as Democrat: 37
        As Republican: 20
        Democratic advantage: 85%
        2008 Electoral Vote. Democratic: 365 Republican: 173
        Democratic advantage: 110.9%
State legislatures: Democrats control: 27. Republicans: 14
        Democratic advantage: 92.8%

Congrats on getting bigger numbers on the right to sit down and watch TV, guess Democrats will have to settle for getting more - a LOT more - people to vote for Democrats. Seems obvious whose agenda the American people prefer.

Yep, as long as Democrats can rob Peter(top 10% of taxpayers) to pay Paul (the rest of us), they will have an advantage (at least until Peter decideds to no longer play the game. The 90% marginal tax rate in the 50s affected few, so revenue from that rate to the government was low. If the top marginal rate would go back to close to that figure, you would see people deciding they can get by with less (just below the threshold) or leaving for other places.

I just sent an email to overstock.com, telling them respectively that I must cease shopping with them until they cease advertising with Beck. I urge everyone to continue to take time to let these advertisers know how we feel about this dangerous con artist.

Not to get too picky about all this "who's still on Beck", but… Has anyone found out how many advertisers upset with Beck have stopped their advertising contracts with Fox completely?
My point is that asking to be left out of the lineup of Beck time slots is easy to accomplish for Fox. They don't have to do any time slots on the Beck show. They can slot ads throughout the 24 hour day and still get all the money from all their advertisers.
      Just asking...

Always be ware of anybody who must repete that they are "Fair & Balance." It reminds me of "Honest John's Used Cars" ..If you ARE "fair & Balance" OR "Honest" there is no need to keep telling me, OVER & OVER & OVER, that you "fair & balance" or that your "Honest" I'll figure that out for myself.!!!

Someone will always pay for advertising on Fox. It may get cheaper and it may be their friends, like NewsCorp & National Review. But seeing a list of their advertisers it appears they are mostly scams or overpriced corporations. If people are ignorant enough to trust and watch Fox, it seems they are in the prime demographic to use Identity Guard, Lifelock, Overstock.com, etc. etc. These and the rest usually seek to profit from the ignorant amongst the population. Where to find the ignorant? Watching Fox. Let them keep this group of advertisers. It is just punishment for those watching. These would also be the same ads you find at 3AM on other channels.
