gov't option

I thought that obama was attempting to isolate FNC as news organization with the wrong perspective? Now they want to control the language it uses and force other networks to use verbiage that the progressive word czar has approved?

Gee, seems like Stalin used the same tactics to call a holocaust just government option agricultural reform. It was the newspapers that got him all wrong.

No matter how progressives will try to slice it, it will still end up being a crap sandwich for America. Americans are not stupid enough to let the progressives try and pull this one over their eyes, whether it's accurate reporting or attempted control by the media czar.

This is remarkably similar to the arguments voiced against Medicare. Let's do a poll of people over 65 and see if they think Medicare is a "crap sandwich".

No matter how Republicans will try to slice it, they will be sucking pickle in ten years when they try to explain why they were against the government option. I await the day with joy.

          noreasonanddissolve,

The crap sandwich is for the millions of people who will never see one dime of their money plowed into this ponzi scheme. The elderly now have no issue with it but anyone still working understands that this will fail them. Just as SSI, only the early participants will see gain, ala Madoff.

Look at pages 199-202 of this latest government report and see how revenues cannot sustain the weight of this program.

The government option will do NOTHING but increase the overall debt and bring about an earlier demise.

The only way to solve this is to give every citizen or legal resident a voucher, as much as $2000 per year to buy their own (300,000,000 * $2000 = 600 billion). The costs of insurance will come down. Include portability, and preconditions, let people save extra in their own accounts and start paying attention to costs of health care. Let the market do its magic. Remember, when in doubt, let freedom and liberty have their way.

Why would a voucher bring the cost of insurance down? that is the most ridiculous thing I have heard from the right regarding their ideas for fixing the health care system.

The right has nothing - not a single idea that will work. Give us vouchers and the insurance companies will lap them up like dog treats.

Make it possible to buy insurance across state lines and all the insurers will move to Connecticut.

Tort reform will have no effect since most medical malpractice is in state courts.

You guys have nothing. Nada. Zilch. Bupkis. Nadie. Ridiculous giveaways to the insurance industry - that is all.

Please stop before you completely destroy my country.

Tort Reform will lower the cost of health care by 1/2 of 1%, a tiny percentage.

              They truly have virtually nothing.

The best way to go is Single Payer. Everyone who has any intellectual honesty knows this. It is not possible because people like you get all pansy on us and start whining about socialism.

We die sooner than most people in the world. Fewer of us make it beyond infancy. We are lower on the happiness scale. We have more stress. We are the greatest nation in the world and we can't find a way to make universal healthcare possible because people like you don't really believe we are the greatest nation in the world - you have no imagination at all.

Jesus was a liberal - what would Jesus do?

I have no problem with calling it a govt option. You'd have to be pretty thick to not get that.

AP started using that phrase about the same time it started being pushed on Fox, but then AP loves it some Fox.
