It should be the "public option". It's the adjunct to the "private option" that most consumers have now, through private health insurance through their employers.
Public is the antonym to private. Like Public swimming pools versus private swimming pools. We don't say Government swimming pools, do we?
So, when I get books for three weeks for free, I'm going to the "Government Library"? Considering that the local Public Library (how come the Neocons haven't called it 'Socialist Bookstore'?) actually has one branch that specifically features various Local, County, State and Federal reference works (having been there at least once myself), wouldn't the one branch ONLY be the 'government library'?
