Idaho potatoes! At last a Beck sponsor I can actually avoid! Most of his sponsors seem to be outfits either so obscure I have never heard of them let alone patronize them and the rest (National Review, for instance) I would never have anything to do with anyhow. But Idaho potatoes? Give me Maine potatoes from now on.

Ha! I saw that and laughed.

Of course Idaho Potatoes would want to be on Beck. Someone a root tuber can really get behind!

        Sing along with Glenn Beck:

        You say poTAYto,
        And I say poTAHto,
        PoTAHto, PoTAYto,
Let's call the whole thing off,
        Because you're a Socialist.

Are you going to extend your Idaho Potato "boycott" to McDonalds, Wendys, BurgerKing, Jack-in-the-Box, Arbys, your local pub selling potato appetizers, et al. A great deal of the potato products being peddled in those places come from Idaho.

An occassional milkshake at a local drive-in. Oh, and et al covers more than just those listed. Potatoes baked are great, just not fried.

I'm not a burger and fries kind of girl [or pizza, either, for that matter]. Being from West Texas, if I want fast food, I go to one of our local Mexican bakeries and pick up a gordita or burrito! YUMMY!

              LOL!

      A little parody I couldn't resist:

Glenn: No offense, and I know Germans. I like Germans. I've been to Germany. I really don't believe that Germany is a nation of evil.

With that being said, you, Michelle Bachmann and Rush Limbaugh all have Germanic surnames. You are saying, "Let's deny health care to the poor." And I have to tell you, I am nervous about this, because what I feel like saying is, "Sir, prove to me that you have not inherited the ideology of the Nazis from your German ancestors."

And I know you haven't. I'm not accusing you of being an Nazi, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way.

Here's a winning bet: There are 80 sponsors who will never again advertise on Glenn Beck's show.

That's great, but the way that television works, your boycott will have zero impact. I guess it is a principled boycott, but it is a waste of time. I feel sorry for all of you that believe MMFA when they tell you you are making a difference.

Hon, most people here are not mindless "grunts" who believe that bloggers, hate talk radio performers and uneducated lunatics like Beck are their masters. I wrote my letters on my own because I felt like it was my responsibility to let the sponsors, CNN and Fox how I felt about having this very dangerous man on television spewing his uneducated, hyperbolic hateful lies. Did it make a difference? Maybe, who knows? You don't.

The way television works? Eighty sponsors don't want to be associated with a guy who calls the President "a white-hating racist".

Umm, do you know how TV works and where their main sources of revenue come from? Apparently, you don't. Because main revenues come from, yep, advertising.

Apparently, you all don't know how tv works. Previously in the 5 pm spot Fox had around 500,000 viewers on a nightly basis. They now have over 3 million every night. Do people really think Fox would risk losing an extra 2.5 million viewers who stay on for the primetime shows? As long as Beck can hold viewers above the threshold of the former show (Fox Report with Shep Smith), Fox has no reason to dump him. Even if Fox is able to keep only 10 of the viewers from 5 pm, that is en extra 250,000 viewers Beck is bringing to the table above what the former show was doing. 250,000 viewers is about 1/3 of what Olbermann and Maddow are able to draw on an average night.

My point is proven again. Many of the people on this sight are mindless "noobs" who have no idea how the world of business and industry work. These feel good stories about your boycotts making a difference are so sad. Hopefully, my explanation can clear some things up for you.

Oh, I never boycotted any of Beck's sponsors, but I did write to them on my own and ask them if they REALLY wanted their product/name attached to this hate-filled, uneducated lunatic. Most of them I wrote to decided they didn't. I wrote the same letter to CNN just prior to Beck being asked to leave HLN. Now, was it MY letter that made the decision? I doubt it, but I exercised that "free speech" all of Beck's supporters gripe about all the time and told these folks how I felt.

Personally, I just boycott Beck. There's already too much hate and uninformed lunacy in the world. I don't want to encourage Fox to add even more than they already have.

Had a thought. Idaho Potatoes may not be related to the actual tuber, saw a picture of an Idaho hot tub party (should have seen the racks). Tried a cut and paste but it didn't work. Could be the same type of thing here?

ZeroWater and Idaho Potatoes support Glenn Beck's statements calling an American President a 'racist' who have a deep seated hatred of White People is so unbelievable and yet sad. Wow. Hmmm.
