The AP vs. The AP

November 04, 2009 1:51 pm ET by Eric Boehlert

The AP on Tuesday:

To be sure, it's easy to overanalyze the results of such a small number of elections in a few places. The results will only offer hints about the national political landscape and clues to the public's attitudes. And the races certainly won't predict what will happen in the 2010 midterm elections.

The AP on Wednesday:

To be sure, each race was as much about local issues as about firing warning shots at the politically powerful. But taken together, the results of the 2009 off-year elections could imperil Obama's ambitious legislative agenda and point to a challenging environment in midterm elections next year.

So, how can the election of two more Democratic legislators make it tougher for Obama to get his ideas passed by Congress?

      That makes no sense.

Of course not. You are supposed to think that two Republican governors make it harder to get stuff through congress.

Great point. The AP plays dumb to set an agenda, so they can be the "told you so" Repub parrot.

According to FOX NATION...he was watching a documentary on HBO about himself.

But as you can clearly see, it was more like they think he was watching Entourage, SpongeBob SqarePants and Tar Heels basketball in a hospital somewhere.

        imperil Obama's ambitious legislative agenda...hardly

That documentary was terrific. It had me riveted to my seat for two hours in the middle of the night last night - I didn't know it was going to be on, and I was just flipping through the channels, looking for some background noise TV show to fall asleep to.... I was up until forever, as I couldn't stop watching it. Great TV.

And some right wing hack (sorry, not sure who) objected to this story, saying that they couldn't believe that Obama hadn't gotten a copy of this movie to pre-screen. They couldn't believe he wasn't watching this election coverage, because the rightwing pundit's belief was that this election was a referendum on Obama. The White House spokesman says that Obama never watches election coverage.

From all these election articles, it's clear that the media is desperate for republicans to remain a viable party. They need it more than they need oxygen.

If the republican party goes under, the mainstream media will disappear.
