Why Betsy McCaughey isn't a credible health care expert, part 3,298
November 05, 2009 10:44 am ET by Morgan Weiland
Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is holding an anti-health care reform protest today on Capitol Hill to revive the largely manufactured fervor of the August town halls and to tell Congress "to vote no to a government take-over of one-fifth of our economy." The slate of speakers and attendees include Republican congressional members, far-right radio host Mark Levin, who has equated the Senate Finance's health reform bill with "economic slavery," actor and frequent Fox News guest Jon Voight, and... Betsy McCaughey.
McCaughey's participation and consequent endorsement of the Bachmann-led opposition to health care reform really shouldn't come as much of surprise given the falsehoods, distortions, and outright lies that she has told about health care throughout the year. However, this event should serve as final notice to any in the media who still believe she is a credible health care expert.
She isn't.

Dick, when you shot your lawyer friend in the face, did some of the shot ricochet and take out your last two remaining brain cells?
Keep turning a blind nose to the dangers of the Pelosi/Obama health care proposals and then you will, like those in New Jersey, regret your past decisions.
We all want health care for everyone who wants ans needs it, but not at the expense of the quality of care that America can offer now.
If you actually believe that the 1990-page bill (that none of you have read) is the best solution possible and that you or a family member may not be passed over for health care in favor of a priveledged, politically-connected individual as rationing protocols are in place, then call me -- I know a certain Nigerian lottery winner that needs you to help him transfer his money to the US.
MMFA hasn't just claimed it, they've proven it. Why, didn't you follow the link provided in the story? It reads, "falsehoods, distortions, and outright lies"; read up on these things before bloviating so much.

Why are so many physicians, medical groups, and AARP agreeing to the Democrats' health care plan, then? You seem to think that no problem exists, or that the Republicans can be trusted to make things better, when in fact they've brought nothing to the table at all.
If you actually believe that the 1990-page bill (that none of you have read)
Like you have, no doubt.

I'll have to ask again, do you think there is a health care crisis? If not, I would have to say you're way out of touch with reality. And if you do, why can't the people in your party do anything but try to block the Democrats' attempts to fix it?
