Mr. Erickson, this is what comes of letting passion rather than reason dictate how you espouse your beliefs. You end up crossing lines that ought not be crossed. Just like Mr. Beck, when he called our President a racist. To give you your due, you have issued a 'clarification', and changed the wording of what you posted, but, have you thought as far as perhaps offering an apology that the mistake should've been committed in the first place? It is something I would give serious thought to, in your place, but you must of course let your own ideas of fair play guide your decision. Before rejecting the idea completely, I offer this question: What would the downside be?
" I recently reported that the crazy teabaggers I hang out with wanted to kill the president by means of a fictional part of health care reform invented by right wing propagandists.
"As a responsible journalist, I'd like to clarify that to say that the crazy teabaggers want to kill a piece of legislation by means of a fictional part of health care reform invented by right wing propagandists."
You'd think an edumacated (sic) newsman like Erick Erickson (if that's his real name) would know how to use the Twitter.

There, that's better.
