More proof that Fox ran fake video of Palin's book-tour "crowds"

November 18, 2009 6:29 pm ET by Jeremy Schulman

Earlier, Think Progress caught Fox News showing what was clearly footage of a 2008 Sarah Palin campaign rally but claiming that it was video of "huge crowds" attending Palin's book tour.

But in case the McCain-Palin campaign signs and tee-shirts clearly visible in the footage Fox aired aren't enough to make Fox apologize, here's further proof.

Here's a screenshot of the footage of one of the rallies that Fox's Gregg Jarrett showed today and claimed was "just coming into us" as part of the book tour:

And here's a photo posted last year by Florida TV station CFNews 13 of a November 1, 2008, Palin rally in Ocala, Florida:

And here's a video of that same rally that TPM posted way back in 2008 -- when it actually happened.

They're working on the principal that their social-security-receiving, government-hating audience isn't ever going to find out that they doctor video all the time, because their only source of information is FOX NEWS.

okay, I do not recieve social security and I don't hate the government(and who are you to judge the viewing audience of FOX news anyway). I was in the broadcasting busines for 25 years and let me say that mistakes do happen. Let's just leave it at that. If you don't like FOX turn the channel.

Fox news audience isn't government hating; speaking for myself, I don't want government in my business. This administration is vying for socialism; period! You should pay attention to how the real Doctors, Nurses, & health care providers feel about this pathetic health care bill that is going to ration health care as well as decrease Medicare benefits for the elderly as well death panels as well as increase the already high taxes that are imposed; you name it, these losers are spending my money, my kids money, my grandkids money like drunkin' sailors, & you better believe I'm going to do whatever I can to stop this madness. Wake up you idiot!!!!!!

Perhaps that is the point of Cluster Fox being so blatant in its use of old footage being recreated as new to push their agenda... I mean, Fox Noise is the official mouth piece of the right-wing fringe of the Republican, now 'going rouge' Conservative party...

Besides, since Fox has already gone to court to claim they had a legal right to lie about what the news is... this is not all that unexpected!

Hey, guess what, new Frontier- that group of people in your famous photo is about three times the number of people you can see in the footage that Fox ran in the teaser of the Palin campaign rally.

Maybe they were trying to hurt Palin since the book signing footage would've easily shown more than the 15-20 or so you see in the background of the campaign rally.

You think Fox was trying to hurt Palin? By down-playing the size of her crowds?

Well, maybe, I guess. Maybe they thought, "We'll pretend to be incompetent in covering the news in order to hurt the person we pretend to support." But probably not.

Your kidding, right? Think Progress should be evaluating the pathetic health bills that are being generated instead of checking facts from Sarah Palins book as well as the ACORN frauds that are being committed with tax payer monies. Can't do that; in too deep with the left. You liberals are so dumb! Hopefully, after these painful 4 years, the US will be able to reverse all the damage this non-educated President has done!

Forgot to mention that I was at Borders yesterday and was faced with a very prominent display of Palins (ugh) book with a big sign
stating 40% off. There was a local reporter standing nearby waiting to interview somebody-anybody who looked even remotely interested in the buying the book. I overheard the reporter ask the clerk how many copies they sold - she said she thought they sold one copy. HAH! Going Rogue! coming to a $1 discount bin near you.

I live in one of the most conservative areas in the country and the local booksellers here are only expecting to sell about 500 copies. Personally, I think there will be many on the bargain books stacks along with all of those of O'Reilly, Beck, Goldberg, Hannity, etc. Those books don't sell here . . . they don't represent conservatism.

Once again you MMFA posters fail to realize that it is quite possible that this is a real video and the same people showed up, sat in the same seats, used the same signs, same clothes etc.
Why do you hate Fox News so much to even insinuate they could be cheating? I'm going to Rush Limbaughs website to find the truth.
Seannies website told me that all of the above facts were true.

Who is going to notice or be concerned about these lies, other than watchdogs? Their audience doesn't know or care. Until someone finds a way to stamp out sheer ignorance, there will be no way to stamp out Fox.

Ignorance can be solved through education and understanding, but "stoopid is forever." I don't think I have ever seen such a degree of intolerance and hate in America and I'm an old guy remembering Vietnam and MLK. Part of it is fueled by instant communication which leads to instant gratification. An individual has so many immediate sources of mis-information/dis-information that the individual's belief system is constantly re-inforced to the exclusion of different opinions and just-plain facts. I'm generally a "centrist" politically, but feel drowned in a sea of extremist polemics coming from both sides. It has become difficult to trust many news programs because there always appears to be an "angle" or some "hidden agenda" from those reporting the news. Fox and their ilk are generally louder these days and unfortunately "loud" oftentimes wins. Tell people anything long enough and loud enough and people will believe it.

They hold up signs threatening his children and wife lives.Oreilly sent out "dog whistles"to get a doctor murdered in a church. Three policemen were murdered because of Glenn Beck's FEMA lies.
