Fox Nation promotes rally against trials of 9/11 conspirators

November 25, 2009 11:16 am ET by Media Matters staff

From Fox Nation on November 25:

9/11 Never Forget Coalition Rally: Will You Attend?

According to its website, the 9/11 Never Forget Coalition "formed to fight the decision of President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder to try the 9/11 co-conspirators in New York City's federal court, effectively giving war criminals the same rights as American citizens while endangering the safety of all New Yorkers."

I wonder if Fox will provide the pitchforks and torches. If there was any lingering doubt that Fox is a partisan organization, it's gone like a fart in the wind.

        Angry mob! Angry mob!

And there lies the problem. Other than the fact that if we want to preach the ideals of our nation, we also have to have the moral fortitude to practice our ideals.

It is fairly easy to rile the mob but; how do you maintain control once you have them riled up? That is why we have the right to free speech but; are not allowed to yell "Fire" in a crowded building.
Anyone, on the left, right, or center, who uses fear mongering, etc to rile the mob and "get their point across", has to understand that there is a responsibility that goes along with all of our rights, free speech included.

Don't you just love it when the right, with all their gum flapping about "original intent" argues against the Founding Fathers?

These people hate the Constitution and true justice or they would want these trials. One of my local news papers the Sacramento Bee printed l letter calling these trials a crime by insinuation.

Grab your torches and pitchforks, folks. Once again Fox "News" feels the best way to report a story is the become the story. How many more of these protests will we have to suffer before someone actually calls them out? (aside from MMfA)

That's the craziest thing I ever heard. Why, if you believe these guys actually are terrorists, would you not want them to be tried? What do they think we should do instead?

I'm worried this will push vital issues like "War on Christmas" and "ACORN" right off Fox Nation's "Hot Topics" list.

Military tribunals are not all they're cracked up to be, and there is a long history of trying non-citizen terrorists in criminal court and sentencing them to federal prison. This is not a new thing.
