Stossel's new Fox show makes "special offer" to Students for Liberty to attend shows

December 10, 2009 11:33 pm ET by MMFA Staff

As John Aravosis noted on Americablog, the message below was apparently sent to members of a mailing list for the Tea Party Patriots. The message was apparently sent from the Facebook group for the Students for Liberty, a 501c3 organization of students whose "mission is to provide a unified, student-driven forum of support for students and student organizations dedicated to liberty." SFL's office is at the Cato Institute.

The message encourages readers to watch John Stossel's new show on Fox Business Network and says the show has "made a special offer to SFL member[s] to be part of the audience."

From the email message:

Subject: John Stossell Tonight

Hi all,

John Stossel's new show on the Fox Business Network is finally beginning! The show premieres this Thursday, December 10th, at 8pm EST, and the first topic will be global warming!

The new show, simply called "Stossel," will tackle many important political and economic issues from Stossel's unique libertarian perspective. Be sure to check your local listings to see if your cable provider carries the Fox Business Network yet.

Also, if anyone in SFL is interested in being a part of the studio audience for future tapings of the show (generally filmed on Thursdays), please email Stosseltix@foxnews.com or call 877-369-8587.  They have made a special offer to SFL member to be part of the audience.

Sincerely & For Liberty,
Alexander

When Stossel says "Media Matters", is he including posters like us? If that's the case, I know I've smeared him several times.

        Here, I'll do it again...

John Stossel is a Republican shill and a lying sack of crap.

I'm sure he could, but since I already know Stossel is a liar I'll post the first one anyone thinks of when they think of "Stossel Lies"...

His views have put him under intense scrutiny in the hothouse world of environmental and consumer politics. And now an error made in a recent ''20/20'' segment -- in which he cited pesticide tests that were never done to debunk the assumed benefits of organic foods -- has put him under scrutiny by a wider audience while creating a public relations mess for ABC News. From now on, Mr. Stossel is likely to draw even more attention.

As coverage and criticism of Mr. Stossel spread last week, ABC, a unit of Walt Disney, took the rare step of publicly reprimanding him, and suspending the producer of the report, David W. Fitzpatrick, for one month, without pay. On ''20/20'' Friday night, Mr. Stossel apologized.

The word "error" is used here. Hard to say it's a 'lie'

That's what liars call their lies when they are caught.

I mean, how could they not know what the food was tested for? They ordered those tests.

Did you even bother to read what Old_Benjamin posted? Stossel quoted pesticide tests that never were even performed. How can that be an error? He made something up and you call it an error? That was a lie. Plain and simple.
