How ridiculous. (It's becoming a little unnerving how often those two words can accurately be applied to what I see on FOX Propaganda.) To begin, being a progressive and being a patriot are not mutually exclusive. Most progressives are patriots. Most Americans are patriots, regardless of party affiliation or where they fall on the conservative-liberal spread of thought.
Health coverage reform was and is itself a revolt against a status quo that has run roughshod over Americans for almost a century now. What Mr. Dean is pointing out is that the legislation under consideration in the Senate has ceased to be reform in any meaningful sense. In fact, it's now pandering shamelessly to the wishes of the very industry whose abuses it was supposed to curb.
With the mandatory buy-in, and no public option, the current bill in the Senate is merely the finally shackles, enslaving us all to the insurance companies and guaranteeing the bankruptcy of this nation. Mr. Dean is right to oppose it.
Whwn you consider howthe Right and teh Conservtaives and the Republicans treat REAL AMERICAN VALUES like...
1) Equal opportunity for all
2) Religious freedom, meaning the seperation of curch and state
3) Civil Liberties and individuals rights
4) The Bill of rights
4a) Right to a fair tiral
4b) Freedom from unwarrented search and siezure
4c) Freedom from cruel or unusual punnishment
It's pretty hard to conclude that it's not "Conservative / Right Wing / Repubublican" and "Patriot" that are the mutually exclusive terms.
And as for Obama's "socialism," I guess propping up failing banks (private, for profit) and saving the private, for-profit auto industry somehow means he's trying to KILL capitalism. Yeah, I'm sure that Marx would have favored giving private capitalists billions in public dollars.
FOX News has given new meaning to the concept of dumbing down America. It's both disturbing and embarrassing to think of how many of your neighbors and co-workers buy into this inanity...and think they are better informed than non-FOX viewers.

Question: Is Brian Kilmeade merely a registered Republican or a thinking human being?
