I have heard that the young man is walking funny and is on prescribed painkillers. He did bomb something, but it wasn't very big.

He set the plane and his pants on fire.

          He didn't bomb anything.

And yeah, I understand you were joking.

These people make me want to throw up . . . seriously. Politicizing the deaths of possibly hundreds of thousands of people and the destruction of an entire country is seriously SICK.

Yeah, that's the worst part. Of course Obama reacted faster -- this was an actual disaster and the other was an attempted disaster.

The guy trying to bomb the plane was handled by an extensive network of professionals doing their jobs for just that sort of contingency. It was time to let them work and determine what there was to report. As Napolitano said, however misstated or misunderstood in the infamous quote, the system worked from the moment of contingency forward. The earthquake, by contrast, was something he was in a position to react to much more quickly, ordering military and other resources into action immediately upon assessing what was available.

You have to remember the victims in Haiti are just poor, non-white, non-English speaking, and (according to Pat Robertson) devil worshipers who really do not deserve our pity or concern and certainly should not be taking the time of the President's time.

Obama should wait a week or two and get on Air Force One and fly over Port-au-Prince at 50K feet to show his concern for the victims, that is the appropriate response to a natural disaster by a President.

Don't forget flying in lights, so the Photo Op is well-lighted, and ties up planes that could be carrying relief supplies.

                That goes without saying...

Could not be a true narcisisstic endeavor without causing more hardship on the ground...tying up relief supplies... scaring civilians with low flying military aircraft...raising the victims hopes that someone is coming to rescue them only to have the aircraft fly off to the comforts of some far away intact city.

so let me get this straight. a failed bombing of a plane that doesn't even result in a scratch to anyone and Obama is expected to react immediately. Hundreds of people die and an entire country ripped to shreds and Obama is not supposed to do anything. I thought America was the great liberator and savior to the world. Isn't it our job to go save the people of Haiti that way we can boost our own over-inflated egos?

The Fruit of the Boom guy was caught by his fellow passengers, and there wasn't anything the President could do about it or add to it that would change the facts. Haiti is, however an ongoing crisis, with millions being affected. The quickness of the aid and the sooner that people know something is being done, the better off the survivors will be. Now, how about comparing the quickness of his response with President Bush's response to 9/11 or Katrina, or any of the other natural disasters that happened while Bush was President, like the 2004 Tsunami.

Comparing this to Katrina is a reasonable comparison, and Bush looks sickly compared to Obama's unquestionable strength on this search and rescue effort.

HOW DOES ONE EXPLAIN COMMENTS LIKE THESE FROM MR. LIMBAUGH AND MR. ROBERTSON?

Opportunism: They are taking advantage of the crisis.
Racism: They barely disguise their distaste for those who are not white.
Narcissism: They are the God of their own universes.

Disgusting behavior no matter how you try to understand it. Rush makes $44 million a year. Did he offer one penny yesterday? Robertson is the titular head of an evangelical organization, did he pledge assistance?

Imagine saying the words "humanitarian" and "compassion" in tones dripping with disdain. And where is the GOP in all of this. What do those who the GOP looks to as representatives of their thinking have to say/do for the leaders of Mr. Lincoln's party to rebuke him.

LIKE MARLEY AND SCROOGE, LIMBAUGH AND ROBERTSON CARRY MILES OF CHAINS ABOUT THEIR NECKS THEY HAVE FORGED FOR THEMSELVES.

      CREEPY! CONTEMPTIBLE!
