Limbaugh on Brown's win: "This one's for you, Mary Jo."

January 19, 2010 10:50 pm ET by Media Matters staff

From a statement released to The Radio Equalizer:

BREAKING: reached just after Martha Coakley conceded the US Senate race in Massachusetts, Rush Limbaugh has offered this reaction to Republican Scott Brown's upset victory:

This one's for you, Mary Jo.

We of good cheer should offer our friends on the other side of the aisle some good advice:

DON'T CHANGE A THING.

KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

FOLLOW THE LEAD OF THE PRESIDENT.

SUPPORT THE STRATEGY OF REID AND PELOSI.

Previously:

"Out of respect for his family," Hannity has decided not to "bring up Mary Jo Kopechne" or Kennedy's "radical socialism"

You can spin this MMA. Brown wins in Mass. Now that's real hope and change.

What "hope and change" is Scott Brown going to bring to Washington? Naked Cozmo photo shoots... trucks... young single daughters looking for eager bachelors? Yep... change looks promising for the Brown's.

Just go away, Limbaugh..decent society has had ebough of you. - Irony101

There's two American societies now. During the world wars it was OK to slur and dehumanize Germans. Now Dems are the new barbarian horde. It's perpetual open season on us.

Limbaugh complaining about anyone's morals is like a gutter snipe trying to give a sermon on chastity. Remember, this is the guy who ended up having some privates enhancing drug in his possession when he went on vacation. He has serial relationships with women to whom he was NOT married and he thinks he can bad mouth Kennedy who did something terribly wrong and then straightened out his life. But you know Rush, the rule is that only those who have no sin get to toss the first stone. And you buddy, do not qualify in the least for such a task.

Mary Jo concern-trolling fails because it requires us to believe people like Rush Limbaugh care what happens to someone who's not rich. See also *snicker* "liberating the Iraqi people".

FOLLOW THE LEAD OF THE PRESIDENT.

For the love of God, follow this windbag's advice. What have we got to lose, now? Every "No" vote for every program will be something to campaign upon in the Fall. Timidity, now, would be the worst possible mistake.

(Oh, and Rush, you stay classy.)

Yep...Rush better be careful about what he prays for. I suspect that this election may have awoken a sleeping giant.

again... Rush is two steps ahead. You call him classless for his COMMENTS, bringing up Mary Jo... How much so then for the Dem Party Machine that tolerated the politician for ideological expediency despite said politician's responsibility in Mary Jo's DEATH?
        Disgusting.

"This one's for you, Mary Jo."

More diarrhea of the mouth. This loss further shows how good, by contrast, Kennedy was as a Senator in staying elected all those years.

this upset is the the proof that the people have woken up and decided that voting blindly like sheep with you commie liberals has gotten them nowhere for more than 50 YEARS. Rush is irrelevent in this matter. This is about LIBERALISM tanking the economy even for tree-hugging hippie liberals. At the end of the day, even the stupid need a job

fckucommies, if you equate communism with liberalism than you are a fool. Liberalism did more good for the people of this country than conservatism or communism ever will.

Rush is a drug addict. His so-called heart attack was an overdose.
Rush, I am just trying to be as classy as you.
Rush, don't be so bold. One of these days someone is going to pay one of your ex-wives more than you pay them to keep quiet. Then, they can talk freely.
      Rush, you are a pig.
Rush, as I said before, you should be careful when you go outside because some crazed dittohead may try to hurt you. Please be careful. Or maybe you can't go outside. If that is the case, stay in your pigpen and keep doing your drugs.

It was very nice of him to extend his warmest wishes to Mary Jo Pehl, former writer and performer in the cult series MST3k, but what made him think that she supported Scott Bro--

      ... Oh.

How could you have made that mistake? Of course, Rush is touting the impressive achievement of the GOP and it's expert campaign strategy and tactics taking Kennedy's senate seat away from him as retribution for Mary Jo's untimely death...

        40 years after the fact.
        7 elections later.
        After his passing.

I like Rush Limbaugh. He is correct in that this repudiation of the liberal agenda that has put this country on a dangerous course where terrorism and all points foreign are a distraction for this President and this Congress. Go ahead, say it, "Theres a lesson to be learned from this and I learned it very well!"

El Rushbo of course has always been very deeply concerned about Mary Jo's family and I'm sure they really appreciate his warm, heartfelt dedication to keeping the memory of her alive.

Keep it up, all media matters supporers of progressive socialism!

Obama and Axelrod and Garret and I are with you all the way as we prepare America for the eventual dictatorship of the proletariat.

Do not be discouraged by Coakley's loss. She will continue to serve us as AG.

      Remember, power to the people!
