From an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) press release:
ADL: Rush Limbaugh Reaches New Low With 'Borderline Anti-Semitic' Remarks About Jews
New York, NY, January 21, 2010 ... The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said Rush Limbaugh reached a new low with "borderline anti-Semitic comments" on his radio show, in which he raised the possibility that liberal Jews were having "buyer's remorse" with President Obama in light of the outcome of the Senate election in Massachusetts.
Limbaugh told his listeners: "To some people, banker is a code word for Jewish; and guess who Obama is assaulting? He's assaulting bankers. He's assaulting money people. And a lot of those people on Wall Street are Jewish. So I wonder if there's - if there's starting to be some buyer's remorse there."
Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:
Rush Limbaugh reached a new low with his borderline anti-Semitic comments about Jews as bankers, their supposed influence on Wall Street, and how they vote.
Limbaugh's references to Jews and money in a discussion of Massachusetts politics were offensive and inappropriate. While the age-old stereotype about Jews and money has a long and sordid history, it also remains one of the main pillars of anti-Semitism and is widely accepted by many Americans. His notion that Jews vote based on their religion, rather than on their interests as Americans, plays into the hands of anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists.
When he comes to understand why his words were so offensive and unacceptable, Limbaugh should apologize.
Previously:

The ADL response is smart and restrained. It'll be interesting, to say the least, how Limbaugh will respond. Certainly no apology, but I'll bet it's either a windy "explanation" of what he said and/or blaming the ADL response on "liberals."
And I think the ADL is spot on here when they state Limbaugh makes "borderline anti-Semitic comments." I've always felt he's tip toed around the issue, using stock code words to knock Jews.
And don't forget, Bill O'Reilly has blasted Abraham Foxman, head of the ADL, when Foxman called O'Reilly on his idiotic remarks: "Go back to Israel"
Limbaugh saying something deplorable has become predictable as has his response. Today he will once again claim he has successfully tweeked liberals and the mainstream media. "I played them like a Stradivarius!" he'll claim.
We've gone well past the enough is enough mark with him. It's time to let his sponsor and the local radio stations that carry his program know that we will blame them for his words and that we absolutely, will not support them if they continue to support him.
...is anti-Semitic. It is not "some people" who think banker is a synonym for Jew -- it's bigots who buy into this stereotype.
Sort of like claiming you can say n*99** because you downloaded a song by 50 Cent.
But this guy's nuts if he thinks he can take on the JEWS unscathed!

Shouldn't you have something better to do than laughing at the truth. Go practice on your wind flute. And I won't buy your album.
The druggie Rush(who overdosed in Hawaii) is using his cuteness again. First, he tells the blacks that they are being used by the Dems and now he, get that, he thinks the Jews should come around to his idiotic thinking process. He is shilling for votes.
Soon, he will announce that many Jews and Blacks have left the Democratic, sorry, Rush would say Democrat Party because they thought long and hard about what he said.
Rush playing childlike games. Rush better watch his back. The Overseeing Drug Lord of the Republican Party is making some serious enemies out in the real world. Some people are saying that Rush should get more security. I hope Rush stays safe because with his inflammatory rhetoric, he will help the Democratic Party get out the vote as in 2008 and maintain a hefty majority in Congress.
Rush Limbaugh, "Drug Lord of the Republican Party", catchy little words.
ok pumpkin.
And the teabaggers movement and their reward for such a decision:

I did. When he said it. On his show.
So? Does that prove anything? Apparently you do not understand the history of Jewish defamation. Did you read Mr. Foxman's statement?
Limbaugh was using that stereotype as a basis for his comments.
Oh, and stop with the "Rush was taken out of context" shtick. It was old 15 years ago.
Rush Limbaugh is a staunch supporter of Israel and was talking about Norman Podhoretz, Author of "Why Are Jews Liberals?
Mr. Abraham H. Foxman owes Rush a huge apology.
What Podhoretz doesn't state is that just because one is "loyal to Israel" doesn't stop one from being anti-Semitic! Can't tell you how many times I've run into folks "loyal to Israel" who still harbor anti-Semitic feelings. Wasn't Jerry Falwell a "loyal friend of Israel" while he stated the anti-Christ was a Jew? If that's not playing on old anti-Semitic slanders, than Rush's "Jewish bankers" is a high compliment.
But it's not. And just because Limbaugh is a "loyal friend of Israel" doesn't make his "Jewish banker" remark any less appalling.
Limbaugh posts a big fat link to Poderhetz's statement at the top of his website. Read it here
