Hannity to keynote Congressional GOP fundraiser

February 03, 2010 11:37 am ET by Karl Frisch

Politico's Michael Calderone reports:

Fox News host Sean Hannity will deliver the keynote address at this year's fundraising dinner for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). It'll be held on March 23 at the National Building Museum.

"On behalf of House Republicans, it is a pleasure to announce Sean Hannity as our keynote speaker for this year’s annual March Dinner," said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions in a statement.

Calderone goes on to note that Fox News' Glenn Beck will be headlining the annual CPAC gathering. I'd be remiss if I failed to mention that Fox News contributor Sarah Palin is keynoting the National Tea Party Convention later this week.

Does anyone still doubt that the right-wing media runs the GOP?

I believe only the right wing itself is still in denial over this fact.

Uh oh - If Hannity's at the GOP dinner on March 23, then who's going to chair the Mensa meeting?

The really, really, really scary part of this is that Hannity, Beck and Palin represent all that's left of the GOP's brain trust.

When is the FEC going to do their job and stop allowing Faux News to be the propaganda and fundraising arm of the Republican Party????

Or the FCC. If we brought specific instances of lies or inciting hate and anger based on false info or cherry picked facts and presented them to the FCC would they do anything? Has anyone tried this? Just trying to think of some way to stop this madness. It is so damaging to Democracy.
Joseph Goebells of Nazi Germany said you can control a people anywhere anytime by doing just 3 things
        1. Always have an enemy (Obama, Govt, Gays, illegals etc)
2, Always wrap your message in the flag and be the uber Patriot
        3. Always be able to repeat and repeat your message until it becomes the truth (see talk radio)
This simple recipe began when Reagan repealed the Fairness Doctrine. Big Corps began building an effective vertical media infrastructure on AM radio. When Rush first began they gav e his show to tons of stations for NOTHING, but they did get the ad revenue. That was the primary cancer and now it has metastasized to stage 4. Progressives, Democrats, any one who wants to save democracy and fight a corporatocracy should be trying to expose this for what it is.
