Maybe NPR can get Breitfart to do a remembrance the way NPR got David Horrorwitz to trash Howard Zinn!

It's truly disgusting. They are doing the same on Freerepublic, then saying 'I'm glad we aren't classless'. Sickos.

The Murtha legacy regarding ABSCAM will always be that he TURNED DOWN the bribe from the undercover FBI agents and testified against other Congressmen who did take the money.

Paraphrasing something I heard some time ago; There are those who serve this country in the armed forces, and there are the rest of us who are cowards.

Taking that a step further; There are cowards, and there are despicable vermin. And I'm afraid I can't go any further without violating the MMFA rules.

You should see the garbage that the readers of Fox Nation are posting in the comments section. Good Christians all!

From the link in BigJournalism's first sentence, the "most corrupt Congressman", it takes you to the CREW website.

And funny, but they don't mention ABSCAM at all!

I really do hope Bill O'Reilly goes after Big Journalism the same way he went after the Daily Kos regarding the death of Tony Snow...oh, who am I kidding? Of course he won't.

wonder what would happen if say Duke Cunningham dies tomorrow?.......breitbart and the rest of the right wing would demand flags at half mast, a national day of mourning and his own federal holiday!

Duke Cunningham was an ace fighter pilot in Korea, which in my opinion, makes him pretty great.

His being sent to prison for essentially breaking the public's trust makes him despicable as a Congressman.

Even so, if he died tomorrow, I would hope that an obit would be the good stuff, and written by one of his friends.

It's not nice to talk ill of the dead.

Another Viet Nam veteran dies, and is spat upon before his corpse turns cold. I remember asking my brother why he wasn't wearing his uniform on his return from serving in Viet Nam some forty years ago. He told me that he got tired of being spit at and called all manner of disgusting things after landing back in the States, so changed into civilian clothes to avoid the attacks. Nothing has changed. For those of us that do remember the sacrifices made by so many without a single, "thank you" uttered for their patriotism, I say, "thank you, John Murtha, for your service to our country."

If Murtha's considered too corrupt to mourn, I'd say Washington has plenty of federal buildings to de-Reaganize.
