So who's still advertising on Beck? February 8 edition...

February 08, 2010 6:15 pm ET by Media Matters staff

At least eighty advertisers have reportedly dropped their ads from Glenn Beck's Fox News program since he called President Obama a "racist" who has a "deep-seated hatred for white people." Here are his February 8 sponsors, in the order they appeared:

  • Rosland Capital
  • Vermont Teddy Bear Company
  • Loan Modification Hotline
  • Aspercreme
  • Mesothelioma Families
  • Chattem
  • Tax Masters
  • Lifelock
  • Sokelove Law, LLC
  • Wall Street Journal
  • Goldline
  • American Advisors Group
  • Pro Flowers
  • Hydroxatone
  • The Jewelry Exchange
  • NBC Universal
  • Credit Card & Debt Relief Hotline

So NBC, parent company of MSNBC, advertises on Beck's program? Phew, they're all in bed together. Sometimes I think they are all just phonies who gin up confrontations to get people to watch.

Methinks you are close to the truth on this one. Won't be surprised to see all the "commentators" together at dinner sometime (well, I would, because I have no plans to visit the East Coast any time soon.)

The NBC Universal ad was likely placed with the cable company - there are spots that the local company has available to market. In my market, I often see Fox news advertised on MSNBC, but it is an ad placed with Cox Cable, not with MSNBC.

Possibly but the advertiser still has say what over what shows their ads are placed on if they so choose.

NBC is also a feature film company and the company that controls their theme parks.

I doubt it was a commercial for NBC or MSNBC on the Beck show, and was almost certainly a cable network buy that FoxNews decided to air during the Beck show since NBC Universal hadn't explicitly said NOT to do.

I have no doubt that RightON is a phony who gins up confrontations and controversies just to get people to watch.

Thinking people don't consider news stories provided without attribution. No sources = propaganda.

      Get real.

Time to get on MSNBC's case as I don't like the direction things are heading in over there as of late. That meeting between Murdoch and the head of NBC (GE?) a little while ago is starting to look more in focus now.

I wouldn't want to say MM is mistaken, but many of these organizations still have commercials both on Beck's TV show and also on his radio show. I am listening right now and Vermont Teddy Bear Company just did a commercial. Maybe they cancelled their contract but it hasn't taken effect yet? Just wondering.
