Dobbs declares Inhofe "utterly vindicated" on global warming

From the February 24 edition of United Stations Radio Networks' The Lou Dobbs Show:
DOBBS: And I'm going to say this, because I -- one of the things I don't think happens often enough in our society, in part because it doesn't happen so often that we have public figures who stand up, who put their, you know -- set their feet squarely forward and say, "This is nonsense. We have to be fact-based, we have to be rational, and this nonsense has to end." James Inhofe has been such a man over the past six, seven years. He sometimes stood absolutely alone and was demonized, vilified, ridiculed by the national media. He stands now in 2010 as a man utterly vindicated, and for whom I think everybody needs to, you know, extend a round of applause. Senator Inhofe, thank you very much for being with us today.
INHOFE: Thank you so much.
DOBBS: You got it. You take care. Now, you know, it's funny. The national media doesn't like to give credit where credit is due, because of the politics they can't -- the bias. But, I mean, really, this man at many junctures was absolutely singular, he was absolutely alone in resisting a wave of popular faddism, which was climate change and global warming. So I sincerely mean that. He deserves a great deal of both applause and respect for what he has done.

Dobbs joins other right-wing media in pushing "Climategate," claims scientists "dumped," "distorted" global warming data

Jeez, I still can't believe people believe this meme.
As we are seeing here, they are uniting in "calling it" for one side. It doesn't matter if the facts are there, it's just the public's observations that count. They have completely turned it around, saying that it's settled, climate change "advocates" are now the fringe.
It's strategically genius, but morally bankrupt.
Still the Republican Dingbats persist. You know you control the media when you have the gall to try to get away with these brazen lies.
Of course, these 2 nitwits are actually talking about weather patterns while scientists are looking at decades-long climate change, but hey, who's out there paying enough attention to call them out, right?
He also egregiously inflated leprosy numbers in an effort to blame a rise in the disease on immigrants.
He also egregiously inflated illegal immigration's importance among voters.
Moron, indeed.
This is one of your best.
You post in a thread about climate change and hamhandedly segue into your typical racist diatribe.
Keep up the good work.
And speaking of old people, don't you hate it when they drive in the fast lane with their turn signals on ?
-In his business career, Inhofe was a real estate developer and became president of the Quaker Life Insurance Company; during this time, the company went into receivership. It was liquidated in 1986.
-In 2006, Inhofe was one of only nine senators to vote against the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005 which prohibits "cruel, inhuman or degrading" treatment of individuals in U.S. Government custody.
-Inhofe had previously stated that Global Warming is "the second-largest hoax ever played on the American people, after the separation of church and state.”
-He also accused the media of ignoring scientists such as Roger A. Pielke and William Gray who, Inhofe asserts, disagree with global warming. Pielke has explicitly denied the assertion that he is skeptical of the human impact on climate change.
-During the 109th Congress, Inhofe voted to increase offshore oil drilling, to include provisions for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the House Budget Amendment, and to deny funding for both low-income energy assistance and environmental stewardship, citing heavy costs and unproven programs. As of 2006, the League of Conservation Voters has given Inhofe the lowest possible score on environmental issues.
-Inhofe campaigned for his Senate seat in 1994 using the phrase "God, guns, and gays," reflecting his ability to master political support in opposition to gay rights in general (and gays in the military in particular).
-In the 2008 election cycle, Senator Inhofe’s largest campaign donors represented the oil and gas ($446,900 in donations), leadership pacs ($316,720) and electric utilities ($221,654) industries/categories. In 2010, his largest donors represented the oil and gas ($429,950) and electric utilities ($206,654).
-Inhofe sponsored or co-sponsored 95 earmarks totaling $151.5 million in fiscal 2009, ranking him 45th out of 100 senators.
Mr. Inhofe has no expertise on climate change, and thus anything he has to say about such scientific matters should be ignored, IMHO.
The only reason I can think of for him to lie was to make people think that he was already a college graduate when he started his political career as a candidate for the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1966.
Being a Republican, Inhofe naturally blamed someone else when his falsehood came to light.
Since he’ll lie about something he has no real reason to lie about, I think it’s safe to conclude that he’ll lie about anything. Maybe everything.
It is quite frustrating, I agree.
Obviously, it's not happening to everyone, only some people. I believe you are using a data set in your computer that MYSQL confuses by translating the apostrophe in that character set as an escape character.
But I'm not certain.
Once, when pressed hard, Inhofe testily rebuked the notion that global warming posed a threst to the destruction of the planet because, he reasoned, only God is great enough to destroy the planet. Man is too insignificant to destroy what God has created.
This is the kind of crazy reasoning that drives the right wing. It's scary...
Yeah, I think he got lucky there.
Man is too insignificant to destroy the earth.
But; he is certainly capable of destroying himself.
(sigh)
If I pour a gallon of gasoline into my aquarium full of tropical fish, the aquarium will be fine.
Look at past threads at this site on climate. The Denial Cult shifted from "the debate isn't over" to "Global warming has been proven to be a hoax" as their attempts to debate the details and the science got more feeble.
I heard Boss Hogg Limbaugh being congratulated by a dittocaller for being right about GW for 20 years, now that it's been "exposed as a sham".
And I have a friend in real life who excitedly told me a few weeks ago that the hoax was exposed. I've talked to her at length about it, and sent her links to sources showing how she's being misled. But she still sends me emails that begin with "Now that global warming has been exposed as a hoax, ..."
It's pretty close to how religious people explain to me why I should be religious. Since Jesus says I need to accept him as my savior, it's ridiculous for me to not accept Him...
Why hasn't our media mentioned that? It is kind of a big deal. No, it is not our Supreme Court, but it is still a valid tribunal in a developed and respected nation.
There is a movie out there that is very interesting. For those who are open to a contrary idea, you should check it out. It is called "Not Evil, Just Wrong". Really, it is a fascinating look at the climate change debate.
