Politico reports "ACORN cleared in Brooklyn: 'No criminality' "

From a March 1 post by Politico's Ben Smith:
Kings County, New York District Attorney Joe Hynes put out a statement just now:
On September 15, 2009, my office began an investigation into possible criminality on the part of three ACORN employees. The three had been secretly videotaped by two people posing as a pimp and prostitute, who came to ACORN'S Brooklyn office, seeking advice about how to purchase a house with money generated by their 'business.' The 'couple' later made the recording public. That investigation is now concluded and no criminality has been found.

If I only had a brain I'd be upset that this tax payer funded investigation of ACORN concluded with no criminal charges. If I only had a brain I'd be equally upset that other investigations into ACORN have found no misuse of funds, no illegal activities, and no evidence of voter fraud.
If I only had a brain I'd be howling, alright. Howling about the slander, the lies, and the all too appalling games that have been played by people determined to bring down an organization that has helped the disadvantaged for many years in order to score political points with some intellectually challenged folks who are looking for a boogieman to blame.
But, I'm not howling. I'm laughing. And, at the moment, I'm laughing at someone who allows the Hannitys, the Limbaughs, and the Becks to do his thinking for him.
What gets me is the public gets to pay for the investigation, which was brought to you by folks who claim to be against government waste.
