Breitbart's Big Journalism calls President Obama the "suicide-bomber-in-chief"

March 07, 2010 3:14 am ET by Media Matters staff

From a March 6 Big Journalism post:

Mark Steyn is always right, whether he's writing about Andrew Lloyd Webber or, in this case, the suicide-bomber-in-chief, Barack Obama, who doesn't much care how many Democrats get sent to the electoral Elysian Fields -- or even whether he gets a second term -- as long as he can blow up the capitalist system from within. Excuse me -- effect "fundamental change." And what better way to get Hussein's camel's nose under your hospital gown than by taking over the American health-care system, all under the guise of "reform?"

I gotta point out that the Big Journalism author Frank Ross made a mistake in his little post.

In Greek mythology, the Elysian Fields are where the heroic and virtuous go, so by his own admission, the Democrats are heroes and with virtue, as opposed to the Republicans, and that the Democrats are willing to sacrifice political gain by doing what is right, and in this case, passing health care.

Maybe if the illiterate conservatives stopped bashing education and intellectuality, then maybe they would actually understand what is going on instead of making rambling posts on a website that claims to be about journalism, but is more like a headquarters for the fringe media to assemble...

How can BreitFart get away with this stuff? Aren't there laws to prevent such incendiary talk about a sitting Prez?

So Barack Obama is an ideologue...but Frank Ross and Mark Steyn are not? Uh-huh...sure.

"Hussein's camel's nose'? They're not even trying to PRETEND they're not racist... (although of course if you call them that, they'll accuse you of "smearing" them...)

OR perhaps it's an allusion to the very-phallic nose of Joe Camel. Which is also, in this context, racist -- in that black men are oversexed.

Bwahahahahaha. I was trying to figure out why James Cagney was doing the reporting for Big Journalism, so I clicked on "Frank Ross" and discovered this:

Frank Ross is the corruption-busting reporter framed and sent to jail in the 1939 Warner Bros. movie, "Each Dawn I Die," starring James Cagney. He is the voice of Big Journalism.

I look forward to seeing upcoming reports from Breitbart's other investigative journalists: Howard Beale, Morpheus, and Winnie the Pooh.

Well, if the place IS staffed by fictional reporters, the best thing they could do is hire J.Jonah Jameson to edit. Sure, he's got an anti-Spidey agenda, but at least he's in favour of equal rights for mutants...

That Big Journalism post continues on in the same vein, calling Obama an "amoral, sociopathic, malignant narcissist."

Their blind, raging contempt and utter disrespect--not to mention complete detachment from reality--knows no bounds.

I'm okay with hiring J. Jonah as editor, but only if Warren Haggerty is made managing editor and they could probably use the 'services' of Bill Chandler as well. But only the originals, not the 're-made' ones. (For those of you who are scratching their heads, see LIBELED LADY with Loy, Tracy, Powell and Harlow and maybe the funniest movie any of them made. Even if you aren't scratching your heads, see it anyway. The musical remake, EASY TO WED, with the stars replaced in order, by Esther Williams, Keenan Wynn, Van Johnson and Lucille Ball is, as you can imagine, not in the same league as the original.)

If anyone had any doubt before, this post proves that Breibart does NOT know when to fold 'em or when to walk away.

This is the third time (I believe) that the dems have been equated to terrorists. They first said that dems who voted for health care were suicide bombers, then Peloci was no better than those strapping bombs to kids to blow themselves up, and now Obama is the suicide bomber in chief.

There do they get this stuff from and why do they think its alright to call dems terrorists? If I had done something like this under Bush, I would have been wiretapped and thrown in gitmo.

Wanting health care given to more people while attempting to make it affordable. Putting controls into the free market purveyors of health insurance who are going to get a crap load of more customers = terrorists

Flying a plane into a federal building. Shooting guards at a military complex, and blowing up another federal building = their patriots, over stressed whack jobs, or lone wolves.

What happened to the right wing meme of never criticizing a president while we are at war? That was the standard they insisted upon during Bush's tenure. So why have they dropped it now that Obama is in charge?

Where have all the uber patriotic right wingers gone to?

Hold the phone. There they are. I didn't recognize them under those white sheets. Say, fellas, why are you headed for the White House, and where are you planning to burn that cross?

Canadian literary critic Northrop Frye once described this sort of thing as "tantrum prose."

Are you kidding me? Breitbart is such a clown. I know a lot of people on the left hated Bush... in fact, I wouldn't be on the side of the people who wanted to kill him or call him all sorts of things that Obama is being called now, but claiming Obama is a suicide bomber? Wow... and this idiot wants to be taken seriously? Stop trying to peddle your fear mongering propaganda tactics for ONE day, you jerk (if you can).
