Fox News Columnist Tries to Blame Media for Health Care Urgency

March 11, 2010 10:58 am ET by Joe Strupp

Dan Gainor, Media Research Center's vice president for business and culture, took to the Fox News website with a claim that President Obama's urgency about his health care bill and heightened media coverage of his push is a falsehood.

"Journalists are out there pushing Obama's latest sequel, even though the whole plot has been done and done again," Gainor claims. "CBS 'Early Show' co-host Harry Smith treated this installment like it's the final chapter in a series. 'President Obama makes a tough final push, going on the offensive against health insurance companies. Will it work?' he asked during a March 9 broadcast. Final push? Since when?"

Perhaps Gainor isn't aware of the millions of Americans who are without health care insurance and continue to seek coverage of the battle by the U.S. media.
