UPDATED: Right-wing journalist: "Blame Obama" for coming "possibly violent civil unrest."

March 21, 2010 6:40 pm ET by Jamison Foser

Matthew Vadum, a self-described "Chronicler of the Left" who writes for, among others, Andrew Breitbart's BigGovernment.com, warns of "violent civil unrest" as a result of "Fascist health care":

UPDATE: More from Vadum:

In case you're wondering what got him so mad at Ezra Klein, it was this tweet: "So Paul Ryan says European systems unsustainable? And yet, if we had their spending, our deficit problem would disappear entirely."

Gee, that has so many levels of irony that I don't know where to start.

A group who have used multiple examples of violent imagery (the tree of liberty needs to be watered with the blood of tyrants, etc) using a civil rights song to lament their place in life.

The last time I looked, Dr. King was a proponent of non-violent protest. Most of these people are just deluded but; there is a portion of them that are looking for a fight, and it is probably only time before someone loses it and causes harm.

Peaceful protest is part of the American process.
If you don't like what is going on, tell your congressman.

Do like we did. Wait for the next election. The right still has the "permanent majority" mindset.
Vadum reminds me of a wife beater who blames his wife because she p!ssed him off.
I opposed the tax cuts and the Medicare part D and the war in Iraq. Without all of that the deficit would be far less. (Iraq alone would pay for the entire Health Reform) So in effect we had 8 years and nothing to show for it.
            I had to wait.

Another example of playing the victim when one is not a victim.

Obama is NOT going to be the cause of ANY unrest. He's not to blame. The people who choose violence as a reaction to a legal and democratic vote in Congress after a pretty decisive election are NOT being forced into that choice. They are choosing that path.

Of course, violence is what Republicans wants while Democrats and Independents want HCR. Why? Republicans know that it will be hard to repeal HCR when ALL American children can see a doctor at anytime EVEN with pre-existing conditions i.e. asthma and acne. Yeap, Republicans are fighting MAD with how they got stuck with voting "NO" as they marched as ONE Republican Party to STOP our American children from having access to HealthCare Insurance. Uh, oh. LOL.

Let me see if I understand. More Americans will be covered by health insurance.

Who exactly is going to get violent? People with health care? People who supported health care reform?

When has the side that wins turned violent?

Oh, you mean the teabaggers will turn violent. No problem. We'll fill our prisons with those who turn violent against our government. They used to have name for those kind of people.

These little comments are what is dangerous I think. Saying that giving ALL Americans health care is going to bring down the country is of course, ridiculous. And saying that there is going to be civil unrest and violence because of passage of this bill is even more silly, and dangerous. One might even make the claim that the folks writing this might be seen as, well, promoting the alleged upcoming violence.

I did hear an interesting discussion about this today. Where republicans specifically claimed that if social security were passed, there would be violence. Also, they claimed if Medicare were to pass there would be violence, and America would be DOOMED.

Of course, you have 2 of the most popular programs ever in American history.

Thing is, probably 4-5 years from now, I'm willing to bet that this program will be popular as well.

The silver lining from the passage of this very flawed bill: Rush Limbaugh moves to Costa Rica.

I guess that isn't much of a silver lining for the nice citizens of Costa Rica....

What interest would a true fascist state have in imposing comprehensive health care reform? Not that I expect logical answers from someone on Breitbart's payroll, but it's one of many questions that quickly springs to mind.

Glenn Beck couldn't possibly be wrong...I mean, he's a genuine intellectual. Just wait until tomorrow and Glenn will explain the truth to us. I can hardly wait... ;>)

Jesus, the drama. -_- I'm not even celebrating the bill's passage. It's weak. It sticks with the problematic private insurance. It's like, the most ridiculously over-hyped piece of legislation I've EVER seen.

And THIS is it? THIS is the thing that destroys the country? It's the equivalent of Republicans making a bill that says that the text on the census forms will be blue instead of red, and democrats going...

"Uht, that's it. Game over. We had a good couple centuries, but it's all over."

Where's MagCynic with his you can't blame others for their violence post? Mag does so well defending Beck's violence laden rants that he should definitely be able to help Obama out in defending this accusation especially since Obama has not uttered one word about violence.

One step closer to getting Rush Limbaugh out of our Country. He's so unamerican.

Anyone out there want to quit? WRONG !!!!!
We must redouble our efforts. Start at the local level. Can you imagine the impact 500 to 1000 or more people would have at the local level, meaning City or Town?
We must pool our resorces and help our fellow Tea Party members to bring the power back to WE THE PEOPLE! Not to leave it just to local parties alone to decide who our representatives will be and the local agenda. Lets face it ! We caused the problem by not getting Involved in the process thus giving up the Power of the People to others.
As the saying goes" you get the government you deserve". If we deserve a government that truley represents the people then we must work hard to accomplish this goal.
By starting at the local level our impact will be felt immediatly. We can then use this as a stepping stone to the State level then the Federal. Nothing succeeds like success.
Do not be discouraged, the fisrt Tea Party memberd only 350 individuals and it lead us to a Revolution and our Freedom from England. So let us continue our struggle our Peaceful Revolution to return this country to the to the Vision that our Founding Fathers had and passed on to us through the Constitution.
To steal a phraes"Let us continue the good fight" Hope to see you around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
