Pam Geller's latest Obama investigation is laughably bad (and untrue)

March 26, 2010 1:38 pm ET by Eric Hananoki

Conservative blogger Pamela Geller thinks she has a new, explosive scoop: Louis Farrakhan, Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright visited the White House! The visitors log says so!

There are  consequential, disturbing revelations while flipping through the visitors list at the White House. Bill Ayer is there no less than three times, Louis Farrakhan, at least once but there is also a separate visit for his familyand the infamous hater Jeremiah Wright,at least five times. (four times under Jeremy, one under Jeremiah.Contemptuously,  Farrakhan's visit is tagged as "MEETING WITH SCIENCE CLUB MEMBERS"...Al Sharpton is there twice and Jesse "hymietown" Jackson is a regular (six times.)

It bears noting that despite solid evidence that Obama was tight with these haters, inciters and revolutionaries and traitors, he distanced himself from them during the campaign and outright lied about his ties to them. Mr. Ayers for example, was dismissed as "a guy who lives in my neighborhood" and "somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know."

Obama lied about his friends and nefarious colleagues because he he knew it was deadly. He knew these were bad characters and it would not sit well with the American people. He knew. And so he lied. And now they are regulars at the White House (while the Dalai Lama and Netanyahu who are begrudgingly ushered it in the side door or seen chilling with the trash.)

These are terrorists, inciters to genocide, America haters, the underbelly of an ugly America - and they are the House.

Had Geller spent 5 seconds doing a simple Google search, she would have found out that this was debunked long ago: the Farrakhan, Ayers and Wright listed in the logs are different people. As Obvious Logic Quarterly explained in its spring 2010 issue, different people can have the same name.

On Farrakhan:

As with past releases, there are names that catch the eye but are not who people might think: James Taylor isn't the famous musician, and Louis Farrakhan is not the Nation of Islam leader who in October told his followers not to become pacified by Obama's election because Obama is "the American president, not the black president."

On Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright:

The White House offered no commentary about the list, except to clarify that visitors by the names of William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright were not the same two men who stirred controversy for Mr. Obama in his campaign.

Better luck next time, Pam. Or maybe you should look more into Obama's forged birth certificate and "unanswered questions" about his real father.

One final note: Pam Geller actually passes as a respected investigative source for many in the conservative media.

Ah Pam, your hero, Ayn Rand, would be so disappointed in you. A big part of her Objectivism philosophy is based on viewing the world as it actually is, and here you go giving a bullhorn to a fantasy.

Big ol', laughably huge failure on your part.

I think its interesting that Rand claimed to view the world objectively, but constantly used her fictional stories and characters to make political points in her essays. That's like using Jack Bauer to justify torture. Oh wait...

Couldn't now ANY GOP politician in 2010 get slammed as "pallin' around with terrorists" by inciting and speaking at Tea Party rallies?

How can someone NOT know this by now?

Either she's a fool who seems impervious to facts, or she's a loon who doesn't care that the facts debunk her assertions.

And how often do we see this from rightwingers, both posters here and pundits and politicians?

As the White House blog that released the names tells us in February,

"Also, as we have previously noted, sometimes rather than providing clear information, transparency can have confusing or amusing results. Given the significant number of visitors to the White House, many visitors share the same name as a notable figure. For example, John Adams is included in today’s release. Obviously, the well-known individual with that name did not visit the White House, but we have included the records of the individuals that did."

      In January, they told us

"Today's release includes the names of some notable figures (for example, Louis Farrakhan and James Taylor appear in this disclosure). The well-known individuals with those names have not visited the White House, but we have included the records of the individuals that did."

      In December, they told us

"Also, as we have previously noted, sometimes rather than providing clear information, transparency can have confusing or amusing results. Given the significant number of visitors to the White House, many visitors share the same name. Today's release includes the names of some notable figures (for example, yet another William Ayers record appears in this disclosure). The well-known individual with that name has not visited the White House, but we have included the record of the individual that did."

Any legitimate person would have RESEARCHED this before publishing such a charge. Just like FoxNews continues to prove that they aren't a legit news organization, Pam Geller shows us that no one with half a brain should trust ANYTHING she says, since she has no reliability or credibility based upon her ongoing problematic behavior.

Who could have imagined that in a nation of 300 million people, there might be a handful who have similar names?

        What are the chances?

I only know that when I tried to find, through Facebook, an old college roommate of mine (Kasra Ghahremani), I found three people with this name, and none were the right one. Small wonder that a name like William Ayers might pop up more than once.

The two explanations are not mutually exclusive. I'd go with both.

      Hey, Pam.

For the record, former Redskins coach Joe Gibbs is not President Obama's press secretary. It's actually Robert Gibbs.

Just didn't want you to be confused if you came across that name.

Now that the health care bill has been passed maybe it is time to look at fixing the mental health care system in America.

Since the states have been turning mental patients loose, due to funding cuts, etc they have no where to go, or resources to address their needs. Because of this many of them end up wandering the streets as homeless people, or populating right wing blog sites.

Now is the time to take action.

If right-wingers want to say that Obama is going to repeal second-amendment rights, force a government takeover of health care, surrender America to the terrorists, etc, it would be so much easier to point to actual policy that does these things.

Instead they have to play these silly little "here's a little sliver of evidence that it might happen someday" games.

Eric - you are so right on, especially about Farrakhan. I mean, what idiot would think that this fake Louis Farrakhan who visited the WH on October 7, 2009, would have any relation to THE REAL Louis Farrakhan, who's son visited the WH three days later on October 10, 2009...? To think there is any family linkage whatsoever would be preposterous. It's pure coincidence!

Why can't those wingnut conservatives understand coincidences???
