Boortz: If Obama is hurting your business and you need to lay off a worker, "why not lay off an Obama voter?"

So, does that mean that Liberal employers or the Government should go around laying off Conservative voters? Do you realise how dumb you are? By the way, in some states, like Virginia, employers are already allowed to discriminated. All the employer has to do is ask the employee to remove the offending sticker, and if they don't, fire them for insubordination. That was a real court case within the last couple of years.

Boortz is completely right. We should move political warfare into every sphere of American life. For instance, my business (public school) would have suffered a lot more this year without passage of the stimulus package, which Republicans opposed. That's why I've been unfairly grading and punishing students whose parents voted Republican. Makes sense to Neal!

You know, when I worked at the Catholic School, they made me take my "Darwin fish" of my car. Had I failed, I would have been fired. I was told it was un-Christian and had no place on a Catholic's car....even though the Pope doesn't have a problem with evolution. It offended the parents. Man, I wish I could have restricted some of their opinions!

Well, because in some jurisdictions, it would be considered hostile workplace harassment and could lead to the employer getting his A** sued.

KDKA radio host in PGH is talking about this right now..Some posting about someone in Texas who has already done this.Fired an Obama voter..of course he doesn't know if it is the truth but he agrees.

Still crying over losing. What about hiring people? Going to use the same criteria? I thought Boortz died...oh well, what's the difference?

Actually, such a firing, without more, would probably NOT be grounds for claim of hostile work environment in that it is not ongoing/persistent.
Also, HWE can work both ways. If the worker is persistent in discussing politics, that worker could be causing a hostile work environment and if complained about, would have to be spoken to by a supervisor and terminated if it did not stop.

I found it ironic that he was whining later on that he wasn't being played on the San Antonio stations. So it's okay to fire an Obama voter, but damn those for not hiring a conservative talk-show host!

A common undercurrent of the right's rhetoric: your employer runs your life, so suck it up and accept your servitude. You'll take your measly COLA, you'll vote the way I tell you to and you'll work unpaid overtime, or you're fired and your family loses benefits. Between this tripe and their anti-union stance it's a wonder we ever got worker's rights at all...

Neil must have blacked out over the last 8 years during which we had the worst job creation numbers in US history. Not to mention a doubling of the debt, crash of the financial markets, lied into a war and the wrost performance of any adminstration in US history.

Hell.....even the hated Jimmy Carter had 10 million jobs created in one term versus 3 million in two terms for Bush/Cheney

I thought that in this economic time we need to make companies more able to survive. How about "What is best for the company" rather than "How can I show myself to be petty and prejudiced?"

Boortz argument during his show was that Obama's policies are going to be detrimental to his business, and so firing those people would be what's best for his company.

Bearing in mind, of course, that what Obama does isn't remotely the fault of people that voted for him of course.

And, it remains to be seen if Obama's policies are going to be good, or not for businesses. We have to sort of wait and see how that hashes out. So far, the economy is slowing, but surely, recovering.

So, for now, he's not doing too bad.

"..actively working to destroy your business"

Say what?!?!?! is he even serious? These people are like a rash that no ointment can cure. Nothing but the worse-case scenerio will get rid of these people. Unlike their ilk, who wish death onto any who disagree with them, I will just shake my head as this asinine man. It's all I can do. What is WRONG with this Right-wing extreme group????

Unless you're in the business of selling used cars, health insurance or derivatives, why would you fire the employee who still has capacity for hope and empathy, yet keep the more likely dishonest and self-aggrandizing McCain voter?

So anyone who voted for Obama shouldn't be able to work in America?

Eliminate the social safty nets and watch them go to their various painful deaths.

There are various horrible futures that this type of vision can lead too.
