Sarah isn't going to get away with not answering questions and going off on completely unrelated rants like she did in the VP debate. The other candidates will make mincemeat of her.

Check out the latest poll on George W. Bush, then think about whether it would be a good idea for Jeb to run.

I see in my absence that someone doesn't like facts.

I want to thank whomever voted me down for my link to the poll that shows that GWB is still blamed more than President Obama for the state of the economy. You have a problem facing reality.

Maybe whoever voted me down learned something from the data the link provides.

Well, he IS the brighter, more reasonable son, and as such, likely would have been an okay Republican President.

I agree. The old pre-tea party Jeb Bush was actually decent. I feel sorry for him in some ways. His half-witted, intellectually lazy brother and the fools who voted him in ruined any chance that Jeb ever had to be president.

What's sad for the Republicans, and probably for the country as a whole, is that Jeb would have undoubtedly been a better president than his incompetent brother. The Bush name is completely toxic. Just another thing that W has managed to destroy, his brother's political future.

I don't think so. Jeb Bush has too many skeletons in his closet which may be used against him. A daughter who has had repeated clashes with the law because of her drug addiction, the Schiavo case . . . George P. would probably be the next Bush, if anybody could stomach having another Bush in the White House after George W. Bush trashed our country and our Constitution.

Jeb was the one that was always SUPPOSED to have followed in Poppy's footsteps. As his Mom said, "He's the smart one." He's just got too much baggage . . . that's why he didn't run in 2000.

After his brother left the country in a shambles, how could anyone possibly consider electing another Bush as Jeb would almost certainly surround himself with people of the same ideology (e.g. warmed-over Reagan Republicans and neo-cons)?

Um, I have nothing against Jeb Bush, I just stated fact. Jeb Bush was the Bush son who was supposed to have followed in Poppy's footsteps. He just simply has too much personal baggage. His son, George P., is generally seen as the heir apparent. However, given the abject unpopularity of George W., another Bush in the White House doesn't seem likely for a very long time.

He could be right. I don't know who Republicans would vote for in their primary. But there must be a reason for his certainty. I understand Jeb was pretty popular as Gov of FL but what else? I expect the Bush name would at least cancel out the number of votes that would get him even among Reps.

Tea-bagger Nation and the other 26-percenters who still think Cowboy Caligula was awesome would make Jeb formidable in the primaries, especially after Miss Sarah P. decides she's not having fun anymore and quits. It's in the general election where that infamous last name would give him problems.

I had a Republican friend tell me the other night that Obama is a one term president. When I reminded him that the Republicans have no one to run against him, he quickly said that their candidate would be Mitt Romney. What a great candidate there - Massachusetts health care, Mormon, stiff as a board (he reminds me of Al Gore, not the most exciting politician in the world).

If he won Republican nomination ,there would be no way Americans would elect a 3rd Bush..at least not anytime soon.I thought everyone was fed up with career /establishment politicians.Jeb's latest attack on the current Pres for accountability while ignoring or trivializing his brother's accountability was a classic example of what's wrong in politics and in the country. We have allowed lies and distortions to cover for factual information.Citizens are more engaged but so poorly informed because they listen to people all the time that have no business commenting on issues they know nothing about.
I just read a letter to the editor in my local paper commending General McCrystal for speaking from his heart; even though he obviously knew what was best ,he was being punished unfairly!!!As far as I could tell the writer was a middle aged woman that knew nothing about military command but sounded exactly like conservative pundits on Fox News and the radio. There are multiple letters like that every day spouting talking points and nonfacts while criticizing the mainstream media for not covering these various conspiracies and such!!!How do we end up with elected officials or candidates as narrow minded and out of touch as Rick Perry,Palin,Bachman,Rand Paul and Sharon Angle? Why would any thinking person want these over the top radical people representing them?
